No power strips?

Are the outlets located in convenient locations? IE..one on each side of the bed? Most hotel rooms don't have outlets anywhere near somewhere convenient, so wondering what people do if they can't bring power strips?

I found the outlets to be convenient. Next to the bed and in the desk area.

You are allowed multi-port plugins. Just nothing with a cord. We use a three-plug extender that also has two USP ports on the desk.

If you need something right near the bed for medical reasons you can either have the ships head electrician approve your strip for use or you can get one from guest services. That is usually for people who need a CPAP machine.

On the rare occasion when we've needed one, we just asked the room steward, and one magically appeared.

They do xray the luggage and it is possible it will be caught. Also if a room steward sees it they can remove it from your room and leave a note that the banned item was taken to guest services.

Is a power strip really worth the potential to burn the ship down? The don't actually ban power strips but ban surge protectors and extension cords. So if your power strip is short and juts provides extra plugs it is okay. If it has surge protection or an extension portion it is a no go.

Yes, there are 2 outlets on the desk. As well as an outlet behind the TV. All the ships have been upgraded (in this aspect), so there are now outlets on both sides of the bed.

Oh the sides of the bed are definitely a plus. I can't remember if we had side ones as we just put everything on the desk as we woke up when we woke up so didn't need the alarm or anything.

We debarked the Magic this morning and the table of confiscated items at the port was full of power strips and extension cords (and an iron and Keurig!) If they confiscate something from your checked luggage they'll leave you a note to advise you and tell you to pick it up at the port upon return (our table mates had a cord removed).

We packed an ANKER multi-USB port charger. It worked great! It charged 3 phones, our iPad, and cameras at one time. Our bathroom plug was useless. We had extra outlets. 2 plug on each side of the bed. A 2 plug on the desk and the spare behind the TV (we moved the wave phone to this plug).

but....but.... it was given to me the night of my birth and I have a strange attachment to it!!! Totally kidding. I'm still kinda floored about the person taht said they saw a flipping Keurig...like there's no coffee on the ship?!

Cruise ships are for obvious reasons very concerned about fire risks, so they limit what devices guests can bring aboard. A USB port charger works great for phones and tablets!

I went the easy (cheap) way. I got this at Target.
On the Magic there was this on the desk, 2 more behind the TV, 2 one one side of the bed and one more on the other side of the bed.

They are for low voltage items...our electric toothbrush and nightlight would not work in there.
