I had no luck getting the room only code for our existing ressie at CBR for 4/14 - 4/17. I don't even know if any even existed. The CM told me they have King Rooms available . . .does me no good. Was offered POR waterview, but can't see spending the extra money since you don't have a private balcony and I was offered CSR but DH thinks its too far away from the parks and doesn't want to spend all kinds of time on a bus. I wouldn't mind trying CSR, but DH doesn't really want to stay there at all . . .

Has anyone gotten a discount with the room only code for a moderate resort during that same time frame?

but i would have taken the POR-waterview. What was the price difference? Seems like even a waterview room with the discount should have been the same or even cheaper than no discount at all. I have stayed at both these resorts. POR-several times, CBR - once. See the pattern?:teeth: Have fun whatever you choose.

Actually, we stayed at CSR this past August and it is very centrally located. Short rides to just about anywhere. Not sure what your DH means about it being too far from the parks? It seems to have a better location than the values and the other moderates.

Actually CSR is centrally located and very close to MGM and Epcot. You can see a bit of Illuminations from the El Centro Area. One evening I could actually
hear Fantasmic from my room!

. . . . . and needless to say, much closer to AK than any of the other moderates.

CBR is a *little* closer to the Studios, and a bit farther to MK. Port Orleans and Dixie Landings are just a tiny bit closer to MK and Epcot, as the bus drives, and are farther from the Studios.

(Edit - Having just looked at the map, I think CSR probably has a slightly *shorter* drive to MK and Epcot than do PO and DxL.)

The idea that CSR is far from the parks seems to be a pretty common myth. Compared to the other moderates, the only things where you're significantly farther away are Downtown Disney and Typhoon Lagoon.

Got a map of WDW? Maybe your husband will reconsider, if location is really the reason. (CSR is my personal favorite among the mods.)

I used the public code today and got standard view room at POR for 3/16/2005 for $127 after taxes. POR was our first choice for that one night, got exactly what we wanted. Kids wanted to stay there to hopefully catch Bob and we leave in the morning to go to the Wonder.

Still will be watching for an AP rate for that date and see if it gets any better.
