Hello everyone. We are staying at GCH from April 24-29 (Sun-Fri) and are planning on going to the parks on any of those 3 dates. We don’t even care which 3 days we get into a park.
So I just went on the app to make our park reservations and much to my surprise there is no Availability on any of my dates!! Is there something going on that I’m not aware of for all of those dates?
What’s even more strange is that there is no park availability on any weekday at all in April right now but every weekend day is open. If DL is is such a locals park, how can every weekend date be open but no weekdays??
Please tell me it’s just a glitch and to keep checking…….

A lot of the California resident passes are blocked out on weekend days in April. With the night time entertainment returning on the 24th, I wonder if almost everyone with a pass reserved days that week in order to see the shows they've missed for 2 years?

Beyond that, my understanding is that availability dries up around 3 weeks before a particular date, so the rest of April is likely due to Spring Break crowds.

I wish I had been paying closer attention when I reserved my days for the first week of May on Friday. I do think there was still open availability for April when I looked earlier last week, but I was really worried about not being able to buy my tickets until Friday, in case they reservations dried up.
We had to replace our military IDs in order for me to buy discounted tickets, so I was chomping at the bit.

I'd keep checking back. I was looking for dates in the beginning of May and there was no availabilty, but when I went back later the same day dates had opened up. Are you looking at the calendar for hoppers or one-park-per-day calendar? They will have different dates open. Also, as someone else mentioned, you can check the resort hotel reservation calendar.

I can confirm that Hotel Guests can get park reservations for all of your dates. Once you link your Hotel reservation to you Disney account, you can use the Hotel reservation to book park reservations.

Make sure you have your pop up blocker disabled for the Disney website.

As to your question about reservation availability, Disney is manipulating the makeup of the crowds. Although profitability is the likely driver, I haven’t seen a clear explanation of the actual method to their madness.

When I was obsessively looking at plans for my dates this morning, it occurred to me that it would be really ridiculous if Disney didn't block out enough tickets for resort guests, especially a month out. There would be ZERO incentive for people to book those rooms, if they won't even be able to go to the park.

I would double check to make sure EVERYTHING is linked to the same account (tickets and room) then try again. If that doesn't work, I would find a direct number to GCH and talk to someone there.

Some of my dates for the following week ARE sold out now, and yes ironically enough the weekend day is not.....and it's also supposed to be the most crowded.

Even after linking your reservation you might need to clear your browser cookies, use incognito mode, or a different browser. I couldn’t get it to successfully load the hotel bucket on mobile and had to use a desktop version.
