I see everyone offering book suggestions for Universal. Is there not an online guide somewhere? Even for a price?
I'm wondering about crowds the time of year I'm going. And touring plans because I've never been.

There are some online guides that charge. You'll have to use google as we aren't allowed to advertise for them.

We are pretty good at helping people here. Just ask your questions and we are happy to help. You might want to start by looking at the stickies.

Several people have written up touring guides for others here. The parks are pretty easy to tour, especially if you are staying onsite.

Check out Orlando Informer dot com. It is a wealth of info on all aspects of Universal and there is free info as well as subscription-based material. Happy Planning! :goodvibes

My dates are Oct 17 and 18 for both parks. Is this a good time of year to go?
It is a WED and THUR. We are not staying on site.

That's a great time to go but remember...Halloween Horror Nights is in October but only at the Studios. Both days are HHN event nights (not really sure about 10/17 yet because of the local school calendars) so the Studios will close at 5pm and IOA will close at 7pm. Do the Studios in the morning and head over to IOA for the afternoon/evening. Other than that...crowds are generally light during early October.
