No more Stanby line for A&E?

Guess this shows that Touring Plans wait app may not be all that accurate. Wonder where their data came from today?

Sure would like to hear reports of what distribution was like

Have some more ;)

Thanks for setting the record straight about this. It "should" clear up any confusion some might have been having.

So I suppose the "faux Disney outrage" can commence now? :rolleyes1

Yup, at least now there is something more than a report of a website that has not proved reliable in the past.

People can now carry on with the talk of Disney implementing a 100% ride reservation system :rolleyes1

FP Classic. Why should they stop repeating history now?

I keep trying to figure out how they've made Elsa so hard to cast; they must insist all the CMs have to be able to sing the song and hit the high note.

I'm not understanding why so many people think casting at Disney is so easy. At any of those nationwide auditions there will be 300-500 people...which will be swiftly narrowed down to 150, and then perhaps 50, through dance/movement trials. After that casting agents go through and scrutinize every 3D plane of your body, without makeup or costume. A few of those girls MIGHT be selected to try on the dresses and wigs and makeup...and even then, at the end of the day, some auditions end in EVERYONE being sent home.

Now, don't ask me WHY these casting people are so anal about this, because I have no idea. But that's the difference between your average party princess company and Disney--they have people who are literally experts at picking girls. They'll send you home over a mole on an arm or a nearly-invisible acne scar, even if you look exactly like the princess they're looking at you for.

I'm not saying that process is perfect (anyone remember Giraffe Elsa?), but I'm sure this is why it's been hard to find people. There are a million elements required to do a face character, and at the end of the day, it's all down to luck and someone's opinion. I'm guessing if they're prepping for a M+G expansion those people will be told to take it down a notch...

Well grind my grits and call me a grit grinder. So now we can commence real outrage.

Still feel like this is a bad idea once the public catches on, that initial push to be one of the select few to get on the standby line at RD is gonna be insane. Really hope we get some real time reports about the number given out. If it is enough, I think this is smart for M&Gs (Not for rides)

I think if they keep this in place that they should move the ticket handout location somewhere away from the M&G. Some would go for a ticket, some to standby, some with FP...it would help clear that congested area.

Let's put it this way. At roughly 10:30 this morning they were handing out for the 5-6pm hours

They did. I haven't gone back and read the story this morning but I thought it said the distribution was over near the Carousal. So near but not right at the same spot

Well, that's not all that bad quite frankly.

Other things I am anxious to hear reports on

What distribution was like
What additional rides were involved
How fast tickets were gone
What putting all those folks who had been standing in line do to the other ride lines

According to some friends, this is the way that the princess meet works over in Disneyland?
I personally took a little bit to understand it, and it seems kinda weird...1 line for fp+, and 1 line fills up until it's full, then everyone's given, essentially a paper fast pass for later? Weird to me, but maybe it'll work?

Not based on what I experienced there last month.

Red flag, red flag...

Thank goodness I stopped caring about M+Gs a LONG time ago. I pity anyone with a small child who can't explain to them that there are people like one of my good friends doing exactly the same thing without a 300-minute wait over in Celebration...

Wow, this thread has it all. False rumor, confirmation of rumor being false, continued anger over false rumor, Parenting 101 on telling your toddler to suck it up, accusations of false advertisement and the Uni fanboys basking in it all.

I have absolutely no idea about the quality of the website that started this - never been on it and don't plan to. But this had legs because Disney telegraphed moving to something like this back in early May when they messed up an MDE upgrade:

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3274211&highlight=pooh+fp+only

If they went to the trouble of designing and programming an FP+ only option for M&G's supplemented with paper FP's for standby - something like this was going to happen eventually.

So, the question now is: what's the FP+ percentage for A&E now - 90-95% .....??
