No more room keys at value resorts?

Can you only open your door with your magic band? If you have magic bands, but would also like a seperate room key, does the front desk give it to you? I would think there's something else for people who stay there and don't go to parks.

I'm not sure of the direct answer to your question but you should get magic bands from the resort regardless.

Resort-issued Magic Bands are entirely independent of park ticket purchase.

They will give key cards on request, but default is MB for all.

Well first, yes, they can give out cards if you ask for one.

But the bands don't come with park tickets; they come with a resort stay. So you'll get them.
