This is jut something I noticed and wanted to know if anyone else had the same experience.

Family and I have been going to WDW for a few years now. One of my favorite "pasttimes" is planning a Disney vacation. I love all the planning! ;)

I also enjoy calling Disney reservations when I first book our vacation and as I plan and pay for our package. It's always been fun to call as it gives me a little bit of "Disney" before our actual vacation. (plus, you get to hear Disney music and so forth)

This is going to sound corny and dorky (but I am so it's okay) but I enjoy the end of those calls. Ya know, when the CM says "Thanks for calling Disney and I hope you have a Magical Day." :wizard:

Planning for our latest vacation started in Feb of this year. I noticed something right off the bat. The CM I spoke to first didn't say "Have a Magical Day."

I figured it was a new CM or maybe I just happened to get one that was having an off day. No big deal.

Then it happened again when I paid the remaining balance. Hmmm....that's when I started wondering if CM's are even saying it anymore. I called a third time, this time to ask a few questions and again, I didn't get the "Have a Magical Day" line.

I asked my SIL if they said it to her and come to find out that neither SIL has received that greeting. (this is their first visit to WDW so they hadn't realized anything out of the ordinary)

Please don't get me wrong, the CM's are always nice, sweet and helpful. But w/o that Magical greeting, it feels so ordinary.

Am I the only one not getting the "Magical" Day message or is anyone else feeling a bit blue too? I know it's probably silly to complain but I really miss it! It brings a little pixie dust to me when I'm not actually at Disney. LOL

Either way, I sure hope to get my Disney fill soon! 13 days to go! Woo Hoo! :)

I have called several times recently (BBB appointment, resort, and ADRs), and I have gotten the "magical day" all but once. :confused3

You're not crazy, I noticed it JUST THIS MORNING! I called to change some ADR's and at the end of the conversation, I didn't even get a "thank you" or "good bye", just a click over to the automated survey. I'll admit, I was a little insulted but just thought it was a fluke.

But what really freaked me out was being on hold, waiting for the CM to answser....NO HAPPY DISNEY MUSIC. Nothing, nana, dead air. That was really disappointing. I felt like I was calling some average company and certainly didn't get the warm fuzzy feeling I usually get with Disney. :confused3

i have called about a billion times and most of them have gotten a magical day ending, except for one which ended in me hanging up saying he was so rude and one ending with the cm saying we cant wait to see you in august :confused3

I got "a magical day" when I called yesterday! In fact I have yet to not "have a magical day" when calling Disney Reservations.

Sorry.

Here is some pixie dust.......pixiedust:

Have a magical day!

Oh wow, I'm sorry that you didn't even get the music! I at least got that!

It truly *does* feel like you are calling any other ordinary place when you don't get that extra Disney magic.

Shortly after booking our package, I called the NICK Hotel as we were going to stay there after our vacation and to be honest, I couldn't tell the difference between the employee at NICK and the CM at Disney.

I am sad that we didn't get the magic but it does encourage me to hear that others have gotten the "have a Magical day" greeting when they've called.

Maybe a few CM's are in training??? *shrug*

Thanks to all who sent pixie dust! :D It's what Disney is all about!

I never noticed what a difference it makes until this morning. I will say however the CM was super nice and professional in every other way.

I remember the saying use to be "Have a DISNEY day". Then a couple years ago I said that to a CM and he said they changed it to "MAGICAL" because saying DISNEY was an inside joke meaning a curse word. ºOº

I've always gotten one..maybe it depends on the CM (bad day?) :confused3

That might be something to report to Diney and CO depending on how many people reply to this board saying that they haven't received one either.

But... HAVE A MAGICAL DAY! :wizard:

I called just a few hours ago to change a reservation and got the Disney music while on hold and have a magical day at the end of the conversation. Sorry they didnt tell you to have a magical day, but I hope you have a magical vacation.

I called Sunday to make an ADR and was told to "Have a Magical Day". I must admit it made my day. pixiedust:

I'm about half and half. I've also gotten "Have a magical vacation," or "See you next week (month, whenever it was when I called." I've also had a couple times where I didn't get the music, either.

It is kind of disheartening to call Disney and not get those little extras. Oh, well, hopefully we'll have a trip full of them!!

Have a magical day!

I think you're getting a little OCD over it, but I can tell you that DRC agents are not trained (nor even suggested) to say "Have a magical day." It's up to the CM what they say when the phone is hung up.

I got it when I called last month to book our dining but not for out resort. I started CM training yesterday and it goes for the next 2-3 weeks so I'll let you know if it's official policy or just a suggestion :)

I didnt get the music today....I thought I'd been disconnected, so I hung up. Called them back and got my music fix and have a magical day too:cool1:

I don't remember if I got "The Have a Magical Day" or not the two times I have called Disney to make arrangements for this trip. But I did notice a difference from when I booked in 2006. That was my first time booking a Disney vacation and I still remember how pleasant the CM was then. She REALLY made me feel special and excited about my vacation. This year, both the CM's did their jobs but they sure didn't go out of their way to add that special "Magic" to our conversations.

I don't think "OCD" was the right type of response to the OP! In fact, I feel that if someone is looking forward to hearing the Disney Music and "Have A Magical Day" response, well, then it is a bit dissapointing when it doesn't happen......but NOT OCD!

Those of us that enjoy the planning aspect of the trip take pleasure in the little "perks" that set Disney apart from the rest!

I have noticed MANY changes....not all to the positve..........lately with the company including the LATE posting of hours, lack of knowledge of the CM's, differences in the responses and treatment from the CM's, and it is a dissapointment and a sad shame!

Anyway......."Have A Magical DAY!":flower3:

I too have noticed not all the cm's say have a magical day:confused: It makes me sad when they dont say it- It is one of those things that just lifts you up a lil bit!

Harmoney we will be there is 13 days too!!!!!!!!!:thumbsup2
Hope you have a magical day and a magical trip!:goodvibes

Well I guess I'm the party pooper. Most of the time it sounds as if they pressed the playback button on a recorder. A "Can I help you with anything else" and " Thank you" will suffice.
