I can't say I like the new name. And the news about the lay offs is disturbing as well.

What do you propose they do with the 200+ staff that have no place to work as their employer is under going a refurbishment? Pay them to sit at home? Split 200 other people's 32 hours so that you have 400 people working 16 hours a week while spending 500 to 1000 dollars per person to train them for a role they will only be in for a couple months?

I think I had read the article that only mentioned 24 employees being laid off - but it appears they were mistaken and included an update in that article that corrected the number. I didn't see the update.

At least they weren't fired. I assume they can get UC benefits, but even if they can't seasonal work shouldn't be too hard to find. And they can return in the Fall!
