Following an amendament passed in the night of the 1st-2nd of April all free refill Soda and fruit juice fountains are banned.

So Plaza Gardens, Buzz Pizza Planet, Lucky Nugget and EoS will have to stop doing it

It will also affect anybody going to Quick, KFC, Subway and Ikea

They are also stopping open bars but that's never been in place at DLP afaik ;)

Is this in Disney only?

No it's everywhere in France that did this - so in the 3 fast food places mentionned above as McDo refused to do free refills anyway and Ikea.

In normal restaurants, cafés etc you always paid for each drink.

I suppose as a move to discourage over-consumption of sugary drinks it is a good idea and water is always freely available. Wonder what the average refill take-up is? And if considerable, whether prices will come down... As if!

Yep it's part of the health bill - you have both ends of the spectrum as this is to stop obesity and they have outlawed all of those pro-anorexie sites and anything that encourages such practices.

I ate at EoS the night of April 5 and they were still doing it then. Signs are still up and no one stopped us going up.

Come think of it I also got a refill at Lucky Nugget the night of April 3.

That's normal the amendement has been passed but it will only come into force once it's been published in the official journal blah blah I think they are still debating the rest of the health mesures.

Enjoy them while you can ;)

Free refill at EoS was great thing.

I misunderstood - I thought has been passed meant this was in force already.

Not yet it's part of this new health law that covers everything from binge drinking to anorexia and there are I don't know how many different amendements that they debate - once they have finished debating them all they then announce the official starting date.

Always complicated and lenghty procedure in France :crazy2:

good.. maybe it won't take effect until after my June trip :)

I don't know if it will take that long. You aren't missing much you know, all these types of drinks are not the same as when you buy a can or a bottle, they are all made up from syrup stuff like in all fast food places and are often flatish ;)

Yeah, but I am an American who grew up on Fast Food and fountain drinks :) My friend told me that wine is usually cheaper.. I wish I drank :)
