No more DVC

Wow! With 9 grandchildren, I would think it would adviseable. We figure we broke even after just 3-4 trips, but we bought back in '97, so now we feel like we are only spending our maintenance fees each year. We do tend to go a bit more often with DVC, but we know we will have until 2042 (if we should be so lucky to live that long) to use it. DS probably is planning on using it after we are gone! Our kids are grown too, so we often take them or friends down with us.

princess girls,
Nope didnt get a name sorry.....
but if you call to get more info on this I would be interested to find out what you hear.
As this is not the board I am on most of the time , Ill check in now and then to see if anything else is heard.

Again Sorry for the missinformation.

Boy...talk about a clueless CM. I can't believe how hard it is to understand the difference between DVC and Disney Club. I would think Disney management would take 5 minutes to educate their employees about the difference. We've all read the posts about CMs at the Disney Store being confused, so I guess I'm not surprised about a story like this. How about a piece of paper at the register that says "DVC - Disney Vacation Club (timeshare) discount = 10% and Disney Club discount = 0 along with pictures of the appropriate cards. This is not a difficult thing to comprehend!

Obviously Dalpal was just trying to kindly pass on information that she heard, but didn't know very much about. As soon as I read it, I knew this almost immediately...mostly due to the incorrect SSR acronym and the fact that she believed this rumor could possibly be true. :) It's like someone posting on the resorts board that the Poly is closing forever...you'd get a few good laughs there as well.

As we read other posts about getting DVC villas for cash (reserving far in advance and during peak times)...it does make me wonder what these CRO/MS cast members have been told about the reservation policy.

I knew the right acronym, I just typed it wrong(Sorry). I guess I should slow down on my typing and look at what I have typed BEFORE I push the "submit reply".

DVC resorts have always reserved some condos for cash customers. Even before they're sold out. Maybe that's what confused the CM.

Dalpal originally posted on the Resort Board, something I didn't realize until later. Her post ended up here on the DVC board. I didn't mean to "flame" you (and I apologize if that's how you took it) but rather to "extinguish" the misinformation. ;) This is an example of how one CM can give out inaccurate information that, unwittingly by the poster, could quickly become "fact" on the Internet. The DVC sales staff is working night and day selling SSR so DVC is in no immediate danger of closing up shop.

Maybe we should all email DVC and "report" this. Maybe they will make sure CRO gives out better information then.

dalpal,

Yes, I'm sure that no one meant to flame you, and thanks for trying to pass along some information you thought the DVC board would think important.

But it's like if someone told you that they had seen your 8 foot tall, green-haired husband kissing another woman. Now you know that your husband is neither 8 feet tall nor green-haired, so you know it's not true, but you still want to find out how this got started - and stop it before it becomes a "fact" (which can happen in about 4.2 seconds on the Internet). ;)

We all do so LURV our DVC, and we've just been through some other 'interesting' speculation due to the Comcast offer (that's what my post referred to). But please, feel welcome, and if you do decide to look into DVC, we'll all be glad to help you!

Great...now everybody is going to start picking on me!!!!

DVC is cancelled? Geez you think you would at least get a sympathy card from Disney

They're waiting to see which corporate logo they should print on the cards before they send them. :p

I guess this entire thread (well, mostly) is just another symptom of the lack of training (indoctrination?) for new CM's. *sigh*

PS I'm not trying to start a debate...just making an observation. :cool2:
