No more discounts for Disney Store cast members?

Does anyone know about this?? Have they changed their policies? Disney Store cast members usually get discounts on their park tickets, hotels, etc. I just heard a rumor that DS cast members no longer get those discounts and wondered if anyone knows anything about this? Thanks!!!

The mgr at our Disney store told me yesterday that they just got back and that they got a 50% discount for working there. I told her I should apply for a job!

I think the 50% off is only on rooms. Considering AP rates are usually in the 40% off range, it's not that big of a difference.

This may be due to TDS possibly being sold off. Not sure the status of that at the moment, but know there are rumors about that TDS will be sold off. IF that happens, they'll no longer be Disney employees....

Anyone know the status of the possible sale?

I was speaking to several Disney Store CMs the other day and some hotels they get 50% and others they only get 25%. Maybe they are just lowering the discount to castmembers for now instead of discontinuing them.

TDS Cms have lost the free entry into the parks. That is the only perk (so far) that they have lost. And it wasn't just TDS - it was ABC and other areas of Disney that lost that perk. So nothing to do with the sale,just a rumor.

WDW posts rooms availability (usually far in advance - I think 2004 rates came out in Oct) and they have always had so many 50% rooms and so many 25% rooms. That is not a change or a reduction. They can be at any resort. I have friends who have stayed consierge at GF at the 50% rate. I have had savanah view at AKL for 50% off. It is first come first serve and TDS CMs have just a good a chance of getting them as others.
