I was told by a friend that they will no longer be doing autograph signings by dropping off merchandise to be signed at Guest Services? Can anyone else confirm? We sail November 27-December 4. :)

Awe man ): thank you! We can still have merchandise signed at meet and greets though, correct?

I heard (here) that they would only do autograph books at meet and greets. However, I know someone on my most recent cruise meet said that they were going to try to take a picture frame to meet and greets to try to get signed. I didn't hear back how that worked. I'll ask on our cruise meet forum how that turned out.

Thank you!! Because that is exactly what we were wanting to get autographed :) I'd love to see how that turned out.

Sad to say, just like the alcohol (it's for your room but people on this board openly boasted of taking bottles of wine to the lounges), with too many guests demanding too many signatures, a nice perk was abused and became overwhelming for the CMs. At least that's the informal info I got from a CM. I'm sure the official Disney reason is something like "we constantly review policies in light of industry standards."

It was nice. On our last cruise we did see plenty of characters signing for kids in the lines at the greeting events, though.

Ahh, We just got back from a 30 Oct sailing and I ment to ask the concierge team if we could do a drop off signing through them. We are doing a christmas sailing so will try to remember to ask if that is a perk they might still offer.

I can see how it would be overwhelming for them! There's only so many hours in a day.

That's really sweet of them!

Perhaps I'll ask for you! We'll sail before you on November 27 so I'll make sure to ask so you'll know for sure.

Iam not sure how people using it makes it abuse. It seems like if it is a very popular service they should figure out a way to provide it.

I have heard that people have been told that they could not get items signed, regardless of being in concierge. However, I did see people getting other items, like picture frame mats, signed at the meet and greets on our cruise a couple of weeks ago.

1. The concierges this summer clearly indicated it was a service that was ending for everyone.

2. If it's against the rules for others, why wouldn't it be against the rules for concierge? Should concierge be able to bring unlimited alcohol too? Why can't people just accept the rules and move on? At this point, asking just puts them in the uncomfortable situation of saying no, and anyone who has sailed concierge knows that these people work very hard to never have to say no.

So you are saying that concierge guest don't get perks that other guest don't get? Are all concierge perks advertised on DCL's website? That is why it is worth asking. You stated that concierge said that this isn't available through them? Then you asked the question that I was planning on asking and you got the answer. Of course when have you ever heard Disney giving a uniform answer to almost any question. So yes, I will ask and if they say no then I will accept the answer.

Last month on Wonder I did see some families bring their photo mats to be signed.

We have never been concierge guests and probably never will be but I think it is very appropriate for them to get extra services. They pay a lot more.

This summer, you could still drop items. In fact, I was on the last sailing. When we dropped the our items with concierge, we were clearly told this was the final cruise this would be an option. Period. Not, it's the end for everyone but concierge.

Yes, concierge comes with perks and extra services. For our traveling party, those services were enough to warrant booking a suite again this spring. However, extra services are not the same as different policies. The policy is no items dropped off to be signed and paying more for a room does not entitle anyone to not follow DCL policy.
