No Meal plan for us so need recommendations

We booked everything seperately so we could not get the meal plan... Can you give me suggestion on where to get cheap eats since we are paying OOP for every meal. Hopefully not 3 full meals per day Thanks!

Downtown Disney, Earl of Sandwich, Ragland Road

Magic Kingdom, I would say Liberty Tree Tavern or The Plaza, Caseys Corner

Animal Kingdom Yak and Yeti

Disney Hollywood Studios, Prime Time, Sci Fi and Mama Melrose

Epcot, not to sure, but we love LeCellier and Biergarten both for lunch.

Resorts, Kona, Grand Floridina Cafe, Olivias, ( character meals generally run high due to just that characters)

Great suggestions. Trail's End also offers a TON of food at pretty affordable (for Disney standards) prices.

Sorry, I also forgot to add Sunshine Seasons. It's about the same price as other CS locations, but the food is much better.

When dining OOP, we eat breakfast in the room, table service for lunch and counter service for supper.

So for lunch, if we are in MK we go to Liberty Tree Tavern or San Angel Inn if in EPCOT.

Supper in MK is whatever counter service that is closest to the ride we are currently on. In EPCOT we like eating counter service in United States or I may get German or fish and chips in England.

Cosmic Rays in Tomorrowland has a Chicken Rib platter that comes with Green Beans, Mashed potatos and choice of cake..

Hubs and I both got one... we could have Definitely SPLIT that though....

I think $13.95 each or so....

We always pay OOP for food because we almost never order dessert and occasionally *do* like to order apps or split meals, so it just doesn't fit with the way we eat.

In general, if you want a few sit-down meals, lunch will be cheaper than dinner at the same place.

Sit-downs that are generally considered less expensive are Plaza at MK, Sci-Fi at DHS. Both mostly have sandwich/burger-type entrees.

At Epcot, there are plenty of great sit-down places, BUT if you're looking to spend less, there's really no need to visit them. We absolutely love snacking our way through the various CS places in the World Showcase, and do that for at least two meals during the trip.

I wouldn't necessarily say they're "cheap eats"...it is WDW afterall...

I have to say Raglan Road is one of the best restuarants on property and the food is not nearly as expensive as most of the WDW TS restaurants and the atmosphere at dinner is incredible.

Wolfgang puck Express in the Marketplace at DTD is another one that comes to mind, they have a roasted rosemary chicken platter that is big enough for 2 adults to share, that's what mom and I would do and there was still some left we couldn't eat.

This thread was designed to eat OOP at $40 or less per day -- I doubt all the menus are still that low but many of them are no more than the current dining plan.
