No ME tags-what do I do?

For some reason my travel agent sent my ME tags to Texas-I live in Canada. He resent them 3 weeks ago but they haven't arrived yet. We leave on Sunday. He suggests I take pictures of the bags, get prints made and then show the pictures to the people at the Disney Welcome center. I think I'd rather get the bags myself and then take them to the ME place. If I do that, do I wait for the bags and then go the ME center? I know I've read posts on this on this board but can't remember all what was said. Can someone please refresh my mind on where to go to get bags; how do I find where our luggage is (we're flying from Seattle) and then how do I find where to go for the Magical Express? This is the first time I've used ME so am not too sure what to do-would be the same if I'd gotten my tags probably. Thanks,

Sure, you could do as your Travel Agent suggests...

Or, yes, you could pick up your own luggage...

OR, you could remember that Magical Express has been operating daily for almost three and a half years, and has transported between six and nine million Guests in that time... including probably dozens daily in your exact same situation - and so, they have a well-tested procedure in place.

Check your luggage at your home airport.

Arrive in Orlando.

Proceed directly to the Welcome Center.

When the Cast Member asks if you attached the luggage tags, respond, "No" (you can go into detail if you want, but it will just delay your departure :)).

The CM will ask to see your claim checks and will note the numbers. They will also show you a binder containing pictures of pretty much every imaginable style of luggage, so you can point out which yours resemble.

Then just head off to your bus, or the queue for your resort, and relax. Magical Express WILL locate and deliver your luggage.

I may also end up with no luggage tag. I just booked this vacation on Friday and leave in less than 2wks. (fastest booked vacation ever!)
I will be taking the smallest suitcase from this set as my carryon. The identical medium will be my checkin. I'll show them the carryon to make it easier to match up to the pictures in that book. Most of my clothes will be in my smaller suitcase, medium suitcase is for liquids/etc.

Your Disney’s Magical Express reservation has been made; however, you may not receive your Disney’s Magical
Express booklet with luggage tags prior to departure for Orlando. Please be assured that you will still be able to
utilize the service and receive the same seamless experience.
Once you arrive at Orlando International Airport, you have two options:
1) You can pick up your luggage at baggage claim and proceed directly to the Disney
Welcome Center. You will be responsible for taking your luggage with you on the
motor coach.
2) Or you may proceed directly to the Disney Welcome Center. You do not need to claim
your luggage. Disney will gather all of your information and collect your luggage for
you and then deliver it to your resort room.
IMPORTANT: Please pack any valuables, medications or anything needed immediately upon arrival into Orlando in
a carry-on bag.
Arrival at Orlando International Airport. Upon arrival, please take the tram from your gate to the main Terminal
and proceed to the Disney Welcome Center which is located on the B Side on Level 1 and bypass baggage claim.
If you arrive on the A Side, please proceed to the B Side before taking the elevator or escalator down to Level 1.
You may follow the airport signs to Ground Transportation.
At the Disney Welcome Center, please present your airline baggage claim checks to the Disney representative
to confirm the number of bags* checked as well as your return flight information. You will then board a
complimentary motor coach that will take you to your resort. Your motor coach may make up to 3 stops before
arriving at your resort.
Luggage delivery to the resort. Your luggage will be claimed at the airport and delivered to your room. Your
luggage may take up to 3 hours after you check-in to be delivered. You do not need to be in your room to receive
your luggage. Please note if you take your luggage on the motor coach it will not automatically be delivered to
your room.

If you decide to get your own luggage from Bag check, please note the DME Welcome center is in Terminal B. If you are flying AA, their bag check is in Terminal A.

DME Welcome center is on the first floor. Bag Claim is on the 2nd floor. Terminal where you board plane is on the 3rd floor.

We used DME the first week of its existance several years ago. Needless to say there were many of us who did not get our Bag tags. We tied big PINK satin bows on the handles of our luggage, so the DME folks could find them easily. (The Pink bows are still on my luggage after all these years, and it really helps to spot the bags on the carousel when we get home)
