No luggage tags! :(

Is Disney still giving out luggage tags when you book a package? Or do they only give them to guests who are using Magical Express? We leave in 3 days, have a package booked, but are renting a car to get to our resort.

Are you talking about the yellow luggage tags? If so Disney has discontinued the service of claiming your luggage in Orlando. You must now claim your luggage and take it with you. If you are talking about the Disney character luggage tags, you can check at the front desk of your resort.

Just so you know, when departing from your resort, Disney also no longer takes your luggage to the airport. You are responsible to getting your luggage to the airport, and checking it in.

My final itinerary from my TA says that our "Keepsake Luggage Tags" and "Walt Disney Travel Co Extras" (coupons, vouchers) will be waiting for us at our hotel front desk. The Keepsake tags are the ones with the new-style Disney characters that used to ship with the MBs, they are separate from the ones they used to send for DME.

The actual text was "Magical Extras and luggage tags will be available for pickup at your hotel. Click here to find out more about your Magical Extras benefits!"

I went in May and got a pair of Donald Duck luggage tags a month or so prior to arrival. Room + Ticket package booked directly with WDW.

In March we had to stop at the hotel front desk to get them plus the magical extras card. I mainly needed the card to get the free mini golf that trip

Yes, our recent package included these Mickey & Minnie luggage tags in the Magical Extras mailing.

Goodness, those are hideous. I was wondering why I never got our (even though we had to cancel because of Covid). But I doubt I'd ever put those on our suitcases. It looks like the Joker designed those. IMHO

We are leaving soon and on my reservation email from my travel agent it states that the luggage tags and Magical Extras will be at the front desk waiting for us when we arrive.

Pre pandemic, we received one for every member of our party before we arrived at WDW. Didn’t matter if we traveled by plane or Amtrak, they were in the mail along with written instructions. The colors varied and we junked the ones we didn’t like. I suspect that they have limited supplies what with the MDE ending and imagine that they are available at EBay, Etsy, etc. Might also be available at stores on site. Maybe the stores that have cellphone covers?

I believe if you order magic bands they will still come in the package with those before your trip. However, since MBs are no longer free, if you choose not to order them you can pick up your luggage tags and other package stuff (mini golf coupons etc) at the front desk upon arrival.

This and maybe it’s the package we ordered. We’ve a ton of magic bands too,

I don't know, we got a package and we got magic bands. Magic bands came very soon after we ordered and no luggage tags!

We leave in 70 or so days and yesterday we got a "magical" email talking about our trip. That's it!

Sounds like there's multiple experiences. With a package for my July 2021 vacation, I received a letter in the mail at home, prior to my July 23, 2021 arrival, with the Mickey and Minnie luggage tags and the Magical Extras coupons. I didn't order any Magic Bands.

"Starting Jan. 1, 2021, luggage tags will no longer be mailed ahead of time to the guest’s residence. Guests can still pick up Walt Disney Travel Company Magical Extras and souvenir luggage tags at the front desk anytime during their stay at their Walt Disney World Resort hotel. This update is in line with another change taking effect on January 1—guests will also no longer receive complimentary MagicBands ahead of their arrival."
