I have been trying for weeks for April 6-9 in WDW with no luck. Others seem to be getting the Sararie and BW, may bids have been higher, but still no luck. Anyone else not having luck?
Try www.biddingfortravel.com. This EXCELLENT site will tell you what others have bid and what has been successful. We have gotten The Gaylord Palms for $83 a night, when I was quotes $219 over the phone from the company and $189 through Expedia, using this web site as a reference guide.
We also used Hotwire for a package deal that got us The Doubletree Club Hotel near Downtown Disney for $500 for four nights including airfare for two. That was in 2002, however.
I would say, if you can't land a bid at 50% or less of the lowest rate of any hotel in the area, don't bother to keep bidding.
You don't want to end up with a place that charges high resort fees that could bring your total cost close to what a neighboring hotel charges for some of its direct reservations.
I didn't have any luck either. (I used Bidding For Travel) I was trying for April 9-12, so maybe it's the time of the year that's not working for us. I went with the Regal Palms in Davenport. We have a 3 bedroom townhouse for $109 a night. I'm splitting the cost with my Dad, so that pretty good. I just hope I'm not disappointed with not having the service of a hotel staff. The pool looks super and I've gotten good reviews.
Have you checked for regular price rooms at the hotel in your category, if they are sold out or getting low for one of your nights.... it will be harder. Isn't that around Easter?
I used priceline.com and got a great deal we are going in march 27-april 2 and i got two round trip airline tickets and 6 nights in the Laquinta Inn and 7 day rental car for $ 771.06
