No luck with codes ?

I'm trying to plan my August trip and, like many here, am hoping to eventually get AP rates. In the meanwhile, I'm planning to book somewhere to have something just in case and had hoped to either get a postcard offer or considered getting AAA membership to use that discount. Unfortunately, I seem to be getting nowhere fast on any of these. No postcard has come, but reading that others have had success asking about pin being attached to their info, I decided to try that. My hopes soared when I was told that I did indeed have a pin attached, but then crashed when told it expired sometime in February. Oh well, onto AAA maybe! So today I called to get AAA quotes and was told that these weren't available for my dates in August and they must have sold out of the discount for that timeframe. Bummer.

So, my question is whether this is common -- is the AAA rate something that is limited in nature? I'm surprised since I see others booking for that discount, but maybe it's just my timeframe.

We are going in April this year and wanted to book the WL with the AAA rate. I was told the AAA rate for a standard room was sold out and that I could only book a "woods view" room. We did do that but are still hoping for new codes to make it cheaper since AAA is only a 10% discount. Anyhow, I guess they do only offer a limited number of rooms with the AAA rate.
Good luck getting a lower rate.
