I have just discovered after hours of crunching and graphing and figuring all this out - that the 30% offer is within $50 of being as good as free dining.

Thats for 9 nights, 2 preferred rooms at CBR, room 1 - me, DH, and DS2. And connecting room for my 16 year old sister.

For the whole 9 nights, free dining would only save $50 more so I am no longer stressing about it and booking this tomorrow! Now if I were lucky enough to get one of those 35% off mod pins then it would be a better deal altogether but for now we are content with this plan - $50 is not bad for 9 nights/2 rooms including the regular DP - so free dining - WHATEVER!! You've stressed me out long enough we are finally ready to relax and finish planning our trip!

Carribbean Beach, here we come!!

Same here. I have the 35% pin, so it is relatively the same as what free dining would be especially if it is the quick service plan. We are doing DXDDP anyways no matter what so it is really just a discount off the end price anyways for us. I hope you get the 35% too! :) Have a great trip! :thumbsup2

Does your package include the dining plan? That is really good if the difference between 2 mod rooms, tickets and free dining and 2 mod rooms tickets and dining with a 30% discount is only a total of $50.

Bingo! You discovered what so many others have already figured out.
You really do need to sit down and figure out all the options. There are going to be a lot of times that a room discount is going to be a much better deal than free dining. Other times, free dining is going to make more sense. There are a lot of variables.

great job... I am still stressing lol.. FD saves me $150 a night vs $50 with my 30% off code.

That's GREAT!! Unfortunately for families like mine with 2 Disney adult kids plus 2 adults in a single room, free dining is SIGNIFICANTLY better of a deal. FD = $168/night saving. That's more than the cost of the room (mod = $149 weeknights, $159 weekends) so there's no way that I can possibly save as much even if the room was given for free.

for me the difference would be a savings of $192 a night with FD, to $136 a night with the 40% off a deluxe. A savings difference of $392 for seven nights. To get the FD deal, I would probably have to change our plans from July to the end of August, which I don't want to do anyways, so I'm happy with what I have. :thumbsup2

I wish it was that easy for us :( Two rooms at a value with Free Dining for our whole family for 7 nights and 5 days worth of tickets would be 2841.63, with us paying for the dining and going with the kids stay, play and dine for free, which is currently the only discount offered during our travel time, it would be 3577.90. WOW, a 700.00+ difference....not sure what we'll do if free dining doesn't come out. I guess reduce our reservations to room only, 1 night and then move on over to a hotel off site. Sad day...sad day. The kids loved staying on site, but for almost 4 grand....we could take 2-3 trips to somewhere else.

Yes! I included the regular dining plan - 2 preferred location rooms at Carribbean Beach (requested Martinique ground floor), 6 day base tickets (we dont use park hopper or water parks) and regular dining plan and the total difference was about $50 of what we would pay with the free dining and paying full price for the room!. So excited I finally got it to work out and excited we are trying a different resort this time - have always stayed at POP and loved it but want to try something new - hope we love CBR just as much!

Glad you got something to work out for you! We did the same thing, at first we were waiting and stressing about if and when FD would be offered, then I got a PIN email, upgraded our room to BC CL with 40% off and it ended up being more of a savings then the FD would have been at a Mod.

We have a preferred room at CBR too and we are there from 19-26. With ours I think free dining would save 36 dollars total, so I am not stressing either! :)

If you change your plans to end of august, your room rate will be significantly lower as it becomes value season.

Do your math again based on the dates you'll go with either promotion...

We're actually traveling in value season now, 7/21 to 7/28! :thumbsup2 I think value season starts around 7/19ish? Too lazy to go look it up. ;)

My package would be $3018 for rack rate at BWI, with one day base tickets and free dining (if it existed)

My package now is $2926 for 40% off room BWI, no tickets (bought an AP), and paid for dining

It's not really cheaper though, for what I am doing, since I won't have the one day base tickets and I bought the AP, but I have enough leftover tickets for everyone else, so I didn't need to buy those.

I don't know, it's all so confusing. lol

Cool beans!! :cool2:

The only floor plan that really made sense for our group of 6 was a 2 bedroom villa. With the 40% of pin, it comes out to be a little over $200 cheaper than if we got the FD. It is so relaxing to be able to just enjoy planning the trip now:cool1:

I am hoping that everyone out there can make use of a pin code or FD to make their trip affordable. I know that I couldn't have swung this very easily without one. Times are tough and I am sending out my best wishes to everyone!

The kids stay and play and eat for free was a better deal for us. If free dining is released and it is tiered- it is only a total 16 dollars cheaper for us and not worth it to change. If regular free dining comes out, it is a savings of 170 dollars more, so worth it.

Can you tell me what discount you are talking about? What are your dates? I see you are going in September and maybe I missed something, but I don't see a discount other than the Disney Visa Kids Stay, Eat and Play Free. Sorry but I'm clueless here.

We currently have ressies in Sept. with a pin code, but now will have to cancel and rebook for late August. We are anxiously waiting for FD but was wondering if this discount would work for us. We also will be trying to book CBR.

I got the 20/30/40 pin and we are going Aug 29-Sept 7. We are booking 2 rooms, one for me, DH, and DS2 an the other (connecting) for my 16 year old sister.

Since we are 2 adults in one room, and 1 "disney adult" in the other, the cost for us is only a difference of about $50 for the whole 9 days of what the savings would be with FD. I figured it out with room rate less the 30% and then added the tickets and dining plan on. Free dining would only save about $50 more. But for families with more than 2 people needing tickets and dining in a room, the difference is not going to be that close - because you have more people in the room needing to add on tickets and dining. Luckily for us our son is still free!

I think you will love CBR! I've never stayed at POP to compare, but CBR is great if you have real little ones, IMO. We stayed there last Sept, DD was 21 months and DS just shy of 3 years. They LOVED the kiddie pirate pool. It's like a water park for tots.

We are staying at CBR this Sept as well, with a pin code (I wish I'd have known I could have done a bounceback last sept). I figured out we would only save about $100 with free dining as opposed to the pincode we used. So I'll change ressie if free dininig comes out, but I'm not going to go crazy waiting for it.

Okay. Since you mentioned you were hoping for the 35% pin, I didn't think you received one. That's what confused me. I thought maybe there was an offer out there that I missed.

That being said, we are only 2 adults in a room at CBR and the FD would be a better offer for us since we would save approximately $84/night vs. $45/night. Now if they extend the passholder discount, then that might work better for us.

Glad you were able to get what you wanted. ;) Thanks!
