Then mousegear said, "On our last day, we checked out of Portofino and loaded the car with much heavier luggage. We drove to McDonald's again for our breakfast before entering WWHP for the last time. Since we didn't ride it the day before, we wanted to ride it. We did that a few of our highlights and were finished by 11:00 am. Since our flight wasn't until 5:30 pm, we drove to Downtown Disney and had a very short wait before being seated at...

Supersaurus Sampler - Spinach and Pepper Jack Queso with Tortilla Chips, Brachiosaurus Bruschetta, T-Rexadillas, and Onion Rings.

"Enough for four plus side of ribs...




"Everything was good except the bruschetta. It didn't have much taste so after one bite no one touched it. There was plenty of food besides that and all the other things were good."


"Our waitress Rebecca made sure there were refills on our drinks as well as the chips for the dip."



"DH's entrée choice was the...



Boneyard Buffet - Fireroasted Rotisserie Chicken and Mega Mes-o-Bones served with waffle fries and your choice of one the following sides: garlic mashed potatoes, Raptor rice, baked beans, cinnamon apples, cole slaw, or roasted vegetables."


"DH couldn't finish it. It was lots of food for one person."



"I have to mention that Rebecca was awesome. We received the best service from her after 11 days of dining. She was just on top of everything and details."

"We really enjoyed mild weather since it's been awhile since we visited WDW in Oct./Nov. We've visited either during summer vacation or the end of September. The food definitely tasted better when we are not suffering from the heat. We dined at four signature restaurants: Narcoossee's, California Grill, Flying Fish, and Jiko. Although we enjoyed all of them, we really loved Flying Fish. Everything about that meal was perfect. This is one trip that I kept changing ADRs and most of them were not kept the way I planned but we still had a great time and enjoyed eating different food. I also loved that DS (age 10) tried everything we bought at the F & W booths. He still talks about some of his favorites such as Pork Sliders and Sushi Roll."​

"When I came here I had all intentions of trying the Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake but the turkey was so filling there was no way we would have been able to try it. Good reason to come back! I would recommend this meal."​

Hello everyone! I'll try to get a few updates posted tonight, but first I want to thank everyone for their texts, emails, and posts here on the thread. To be honest, being without power yesterday I didn't realize the extent of the storm damage in this area. After seeing the newspaper this morning and watching the news on t.v., I was shocked. The minimal property damage which my family sustained and yesterday's power outage was merely a minor inconvenience and absolutely nothing in comparison to what others have experienced in nearby towns. My heart goes out to them.

The Grants are checking in to introduce ourselves, we begin our Live Report Tomorrow
About us- Hi my name is Pam (Tinker Pam on the Dis) and I'm a Disney addict. I'm a Florida girl, born and raised in sunny Miami until just before my 16th birthday when my parents moved us North to Michigan (I was not a happy camper). I remember when Disney World was just the Magic Kingdom and there were only 2 resorts- the Contemporary and the Poly, my how things have changed. Until 2009 I hadn't been to Disney since 1982. Disney is my Happy Place and I love sharing it with my family. This will be our 4th trip (2009, 2010, and 2011) and I am soooo looking forward to it. Our favorite resort is French Quarter it is so small and quaint and the size is perfect for my DH and his mobility issues- unfortunately they were excluded from Free Dining this year so we are giving Riverside a try.
Now on to my fellas:
My DH Rod (quikric on the Dis- he's a lurker but most times knows more about what's going on there than I do). He's a closet Disney junkie who is fine with my addiction. His first visit was in 2009 and although he says he goes just for me, I know he really does enjoy it. Unfortunately he has a lot of health and mobility issues so this visit will be interesting with the changes to the GAC.
Our DS Keanu is 11 and will be turning 12 in December. Since his birthday is a few days after Christmas we have been celebrating while down there to make it more special. I am happy to say he is a Disney addict in training. He LOVES Disney and can't wait to get back. He loves the water and this year we are doing Blizzard Beach for him. He is a picky eater so sometimes finding places he will like is a challenge; as a result we do quite a few buffets.
We are doing a split stay. Nov 20-22 we will be doing a room only at AOA in a Little Mermaid room. My guys know she's my favorite and are willing to stay there for me then on the 22nd we check into POR
Our Dining Plans for that time are:
20th Arrival Day: Lunch at Landscapes of Flavor then Dinner at Trails End and dessert at Beaches and Cream
21st: Planet Hollywood, Earl of Sandwich and Ghirardelli's'
On Nov 22nd we check into POR for 12 nights of free dining: the line-up is:
22nd Dinner at Liberty Tree
23rd Breakfast at Crystal Place for just me and DS Dinner at Be Our Guest (New Restaurant for us)
24th Dinner at Garden Grill (New Restaurant for us)
25th Dinner at Cape May
26th Breakfast at Tusker House (New Restaurant for us)
27th Breakfast at Ohana Dinner at Ohana (have done breakfast here but never dinner)
28th Lunch FP+ at Be Our Guest (we have dinner here earlier in the trip), Thanksgiving Dinner at Liberty Tree (my family loves this place even my picky eater).
29th Dinner at Chef Mickey's (have done breakfast here but never dinner)

"Xzavier did not like this. I thought it was fine but our local Chinese at home is much better."

She said, "We love hibachi dining, but really never do it at home because it's too expensive. So we love hitting this place on our annual trip on the free dining plan!"





"We checked in about 20 min early, but weren't taken until about 10 min past our reservation time. We were finally seated with another family, and it was kind of funny because all of the kids ordered the same thing, the wives ordered the same thing, and the husbands ordered the same thing!"






"Kids got chicken and DEVOURED it. They also loved the noodles with the zucchini in them, they thought it was cucumbers so they gobbled them down."





"DH and I both ordered filet mignon, mine medium and his well done."



"It was delicious. I tried the middle sauce with it and loved it... I think the chef called it mustard sauce, but I usually hate mustard!"


"None of us loved the rice, as it was very sweet and not very warm. We forgot they even served rice though so we didn't feel like we needed it.



"DD was falling asleep at the table, until our waitress brought this ice cream with a candle and a chefs hat for her birthday. "









"The waitstaff all sang and she perked right up."





" DH and I enjoyed the chocolate ginger cake, but we were both too full to finish it!"






"The only bummer was that we left about 9:20, Illuminations was already over, and Epcot was literally empty! We were hoping we'd at least see a couple fireworks. We seriously thought they cancelled them since it was so early and empty, but the funnel cake vendor said they started early and finished early?"

"Anyway, we all loved our meal and came away thoroughly stuffed! A fantastic first day​

She said, "I arrived at Animal Kingdom Lodge today for a Mommy and Me trip with my DD7, Chloe."


"We had another AMAZING meal tonight at...











"I have to say that Shellie is probably the best server on all of Disney property. This is the third time she has been our sever and once again she was amazing!! She knows what I like in terms of tastes and wines and she really took care of us."



"My daughter has a very adult palate, so we shared a couple of apps. I had to have my beloved boar tenderloin,...





... but in addition Shellie convinced me to try the new beet salad."




"To. Die. For.!!!! Both apps were perfect! Chloe ate more than half of the boar because she loved it so much."



"Chloe ordered the kids steak with fingerling potato for her main...





... and I finally got to try the short rib after Shellie explained they could leave off the spice, which is only in the sauce. When I asked if that would take away from the balance of the dish she assured me it wouldn't and boy was she right! She did bring the sauce on the side for me but wow, it was really, really hot. I never could have enjoyed the dish with the sauce on it."






"The meat was absolutely buttery. Melt in your mouth! Chloe ended up eating a lot of my main. She adored it."



"We talked about dessert but we were so stuffed we passed."

"We rolled out feeling satisfied, well served, and very, very happy!"

She said, "I had HORRIBLE trouble with internet and my new fancy phone, so sorry these are so delayed but if you'll take them- I'll keep sending them! Here goes!"


"Sunday (11/10) was planned to be a "me" day. Goofy really wanted to watch his Bronco's play, and I didn't want to see my team play (At the time of that decision my poor Giants were 0-6). So I scheduled to have Tea at GF's Tea Room and a massage at the new Senses Spa at GF before Goofy and I met for dinner at Tokyo Dining."





















"I Enjoyed the Grand Tea with Imperial English Breakfast as my tea choice. I had a beautiful seat my the window and a quiet hour and a half to myself. The courses weren't rushed and everything was wonderful!"











"The desserts were my absolute favorite course. I chose two from the bakery tray instead of the trifle and was very happy."



"The left is a salted carmel cheesecake, and the right, a mixed berry "cream puff". I wish I could have had seconds of both!!!"



"I hung out in the GF lobby looking at the gingerbread house and listening to the live piano. Nice way to head into the massage!!!"

Next DaisyluvzGoofy said, "I spent a blissful 4.5 hours at the spa - 50 mins in an aromatherapy massage and the rest enjoying the amenities of the spa, and reading a magazine for the first time in probably a year. It was wonderful!"


"I left the spa via the GF monorail to the TTC to catch a monorail to Epcot at 7:30, and at 8:15 finally made it to Epcot! Pfew!"




"We headed straight for Tokyo Dining in hopes to sit before Illuminations."





"We were seated by 8:45 and our appetizers arrived prior to the start of Illuminations. We were in the interior of the restaurant near the chefs, which ended up being a great view of both the chefs and Illuminations!! We didn't even need to stand up! So awesome! We did a lot of reminiscing about our last meal in Japan on our honeymoon - it was a great time!"




"For our apps we had a Philly Roll & the Assorted Tempura. As well as a Sake. It was listed as the sweetest and creamiest of the bunch. I didn't like it, but I'm certainly not a sake lover by any means!!!"







"For dinner, Goofy enjoyed the Chicken & Shrimp Tempura...





...and I had the Teriyaki Salmon."



"Both were excellent but we agreed the Salmon was better! The Teriyaki sauce was not too salty and went perfectly with the salmon! YUM. The brown rice was excellent as well."




"For dessert, we ordered the Green Tea Cake, and our first significant Disney magic occurred!!! Out came the tea cake with two origami rings around the forks. As we pulled off the rings, the manager dropped off the check. Thinking nothing of it we laughed and talked about our rings and the fun origami we received on our honeymoon at Teppan Edo. The manager stopped back by and informed us that a Fairy Godmother had taken care of part of our check! Someone at the restaurant had heard us talking about being at Teppan Edo when we arrived and that we were celebrating our anniversary and picked up part of our check! How awesome!!!!"

She said, "We cancelled our Chefs lunch reservation for a trip to Beaches & Cream instead."


















"Goofy had a Vanilla Coke Zero, and I had a root beer float. Their vanilla really is different, if you're a vanilla coke fan then you have to go try it!!!"



"We ordered onion rings as an appetizer since we were starving, but regretted it once all the food came out!!! They were great though and came with a variety of condiments to choose from!




"Goofy had a Bacon cheeseburger and I had the Grilled Cheese and tomato bisque."




I only ate about half of the soup from just dipping and saved some room for dessert! Goofy liked his burger but said it was basic."


"For dessert I had a No Way Jose, and Goofy a Fudge Mud Slide. Awesome as always, but we both only finished half. I proposed sharing one with Goofy but he said No Way! haha!!"

She said, "Last night we had dinner at Downtown Disney's...











"We were starving, and it took a while to be seated (probably about 25 minutes), so by the time we sat down, we were ready to eat! The bread came first. It was very good."





"We ordered the Calamari City as an appetizer."





"These were delicious. We all (well, except Lucy!) enjoyed these very much."



"I chose the Braised Be Beef as my entrée."




"It was okay. In the restaurant's defense, it was cooked perfectly... I think I just made the wrong choice for my personal taste. That said, I did think the horseradish mashed potatoes were excellent.


"JoJo chose the special of the night. It was scallops over lobster risotto."



"She said it was pretty good (I tried the risotto and thought it was fantastic), but she thinks she made the wrong choice for herself, too. She was really in the mood for the chicken, and doesn't know why she went with the scallops.



"Keith had the Burger 'R' Way."



"He said it was good (but he wasn't overly excited about it)."



"Sophie had the Silly Steak from the kids menu and she loved it."



"She ate every last bite."




"Lucy had the mac and cheese, and also enjoyed it (and said she really loved the bowl!)."





"There was no way I was going to Raglan Road and not getting the bread pudding."



"We had it last year, and thought it was amazing. It didn't disappoint this year, either. It was very, very good. Even picky Lucy gobbled it up!"




"I would say overall that we had a good dinner at Raglan Road. The girls really enjoyed the Irish dancers, too."

"For our next adventure we made our way to Downtown Disney and went to...







"We knew exactly what we were after. Make your own treats are so fun! We grabbed our papers off the counter and made our decisions."








I went with a Rice Krispie treat with milk chocolate, mini m&m's, and more milk chocolate while Xzavier had a gingerbread Mickey with dark chocolate, crushed oreo, and more dark chocolate."








"It is fun to watch them make these and the treats are yummy!"








They last a long time in your fridge which is good because they are very sweet and I don't think anyone could eat them all at once!​

The only other update received on Monday was a surprise one from Paula (smile4stamps), who was reporting from the Disneyland resort.


She said, "I was playing with Priceline 2 weeks ago and seeing if I could get a low price for a hotel to make a quick trip. Priceline approved my bid of only $30/night so I guess it was telling me I needed a trip to Disneyland! And after some of the days I've had at work recently I'm so happy I had this to look forward to! The first stop was the ticket booth to upgrade my WDW Annual Pass to the "Golden Ticket".





"They are taping "The View" here this week so they had a bunch of characters in front of the castle!"






"I decided since I was warm from my walk to DL from the hotel, I would take a ride on Splash!"






"And then Pooh since I was in the area!"






"Then I deemed it time for some food! I only had a tamale at work last night and that was 12hrs ago!"



"I decided to go with something I had loved my previous trip!"
