We will be rope-dropping at both DL and DCA on our trip later this month. We're not planning on using lightning lane at all. What do you recommend our route be at each park?

I've read conflicting articles suggesting you either should or shouldn't go for the biggest attraction in the first 2 hours.

FYI, we'll be a family of four with a 5 and 8 year old.

THANKS!

It all depends on what is most important to you when it comes to what you are willing to wait for.
Disneyland, do you want short waits for...
Fantasyland, Thrill Rides, or Rise?
DCA, which ILL ride do you want a short wait for...
Web Slingers or Radiator Springs Racers?

At DL for an 8am opening, you have about two hours where with a plan you can get through quite a few things with low waits.
At DCA for an 8am opening you have about an hour and a half.

Thanks @DLRExpert.

I think we want to get in as many attraction as possible but generally, our 5 year old hasn't been to DL since he's been tall enough for all the rollercoasters. He will want to get RSR and web slingers for sure. This might be our first trip not prioritizing Peter Pan at rope drop.

You'll be able to rope drop RSR and web slingers but you will need to do them on two separate DCA days. The lines back up too quickly to do them successively if you want a short wait. You might check wait times on webslingers and jump in line later in the day when the wait has dropped.
