Looking for advice...on a waitlist.

Planning a "last minute" trip in January...4 nights
Need a 2 bdrm villa - have SSR reserved.

Options for waitlist:
AKV - have stayed there
BCV - leaning towards this one...

Currently 2 of the nights are available at each resort...(the last 2 nights)
What are my chances that the waitlist will come through on 2 of the nights?
I would have to waitlist the entire trip - I think, to keep SSR reserved...

A frustration of mine is DVC resorts selling out SO quickly.

I know there are limited rooms and I totally understand...but UH what a frustration!!

What do you guys think?

Yep, inside 4-5 months, DVC reservations require you to invent a new game. It's called "stalking the website."

If the possibility of a split stay doesn't kill you, it's best to grab the days you can grab, then check the website at least daily, and Waitlist, to fill in the other days. If you are happy going to Disney (and staying anywhere) then the game is OK, but it's not for everyone.

Of your choices, AKV is most likely (assuming Standard or Savanna views) vs BC which is smaller and has 3 categories of 2BR.

I had thought about that.

I am traveling with 4 newbies...

so I think it best to stay in one resort...
and I also think if the weather wasn't so iffy - (for stormalong bay) I might really encourage the split....

Thanks!

The split stay is your best option. It doesn't matter that two days are open now; they aren't held to fill your waitlist. You'll need all four nights to be open at the same time for it to come through. Book two at SSR and two at your preferred location. Waitlist the other two nights.

Sorry, I missed what the problem was with SSR? (As I would happily stay there myself….)

Just yesterday I booked a split stay at SSR (3 nights) and BWV (4 nights). Waitlisted the first 3 nights at BWV so we wouldn't have to move in the middle of the trip.

24 hours later I looked on the website and saw that one of the nights I had waitlisted had opened up so I called to cancel that night at SSR and reserve BWV. MS then told me that may whole waitlist had cleared and we already had it reserved.

I would do the split stay too and waitlist BCV so as not to move on such a short trip. Nothing whatsoever wrong with SSR, in fact we are staying there in December on a split stay with BCV. I booked SSR on purpose.....love it there.
