No kids, no husbands & no rain! Girls weekend at BWI! - NEW 11/12 p16 -The End!

Nice purchases! I love that grumpy underwear. That is cute.

Your cat is beautiful and doing exactly what cats do best - sit on anything laid out on the bed!

So sorry about GG, condolences to you and the whole family.

Cute shopping, we have never done the pressed pennies. Might have to do that on our next trip.

Three drinks before a KP mission would sure make it interesting. On thing I've often wondered though about Epcot is how in the world does someone get drunk there at those prices. :rotfl2:

Love souvenirs/shopping especially Disney shopping!!!! The picture of your kitty and the grumpy boxers is WAY TOO CUTE~~~

So sorry about GG

Great purchases! My nephew got that pressed penny book in August. It's such a great way to store all of those pressed pennies.

Thank you! We've actually never done pressed pennies before but the boys will be 7 & 10 for our next trip so I think it's a good time for them to start.

I called Tim, "Mr. Grumpy pants" yesterday and he asked me if that's why I bought those undies for him!

Thanks Anne Marie! The pressed pennies will be a first for us... we'll have to start saving our quarters & pennies.

You're so right about the Epcot drink prices! :headache:

Thanks Jen! Snowy always wants to be in on the action! :rotfl:

After Mousegear we needed to head to Japan for lunch. We had an ADR at one of my favorite restaurants – Teppan Edo! We walked to Japan via the Canada side. Along the way we stopped at the IG to see if we could pick up our KP Kimmunicator and save it for later. They said it would only be good for 15 minutes from when it’s activated so they gave us a new FP to pick up our Kimmunicator in Italy any time later in the day.

When we arrived at Teppan Edo, we were seated with a family of four and a couple – the husband was celebrating his birthday. Laura and I were given two of the end seats. We both ordered the filet and enjoyed it very much. The chef was great! He brought up the birthday boy for a special photo op. The two kids at the table wanted to do that too, so the chef let them come up and played right along! I only took one picture…

After lunch we browsed in the shops in Japan. Laura was really considering buying a kimono for her older daughter as a souvenir and Halloween costume. We looked at them, took some pictures and I even tried one on.

Laura wanted to think it over so we waited to buy anything right then. I think she texted a picture to her daughter to see if she’d like it… which she did! She ended up buying the kimono later in the weekend but with a pink obi (sash around the waist) rather than the red.

After Japan we headed to Italy to pick up our KP Kimmunicator. I told the CM that I had done Japan & Germany so any other country would be great. He asked us which way we were heading and gave us China. We headed right there and saved China from the bad guys!

Yeay for saving China from the bad guys!!! Love the kimono! I bet it looks great with a pink sash! I am really kicking myself now for not going to Food and Wine this year for our wedding anniversary. It is our 15th, and I am thinking what an adorable photo op it would have been to pose with that topiary!

We will be celebrating our 15th next fall... We definitely want to go away somewhere but I'm not sure I can convince DH to go to Disney. Though F&W would be temping for him.

My kids loved the KP mission and definitely want to do it again. I have to confess we've never seen that exhibit in China with the Tomb Warriors.

It looks like a beautiful day!

That Kimono is so pretty. I remember my uncle bringing one home when I was a little girl. I thought it was the coolest garment ever.

I am officially a KP addict. Didn't you love the China mission. I have 3 more missions to do when I get back in May.

Sounds like more fun in Epcot and a yummy lunch!

Great update Amy. Love the kimono. Looks like a beautiful day to be strolling around WS.

It was a great day to be exploring the WS! The kimonos were all very cool!

There are so many parts of the WS that I've seen only because of the KP missions! They really make you stop and check out the details. :thumbsup2

Laura was trying to figure out how to deal with the whole kimono thing... she has two DDs but didn't want to buy two kimonos. (I think it was $60 for just the kimono) She ended up buying it for herself & it letting her older DD "borrow" it for Halloween. That way the younger DD can use it sometime too.

Yes - I love the KP missions!! I've only done Japan & Germany (with the family) and now China so there are plenty of choices left... do all of the countries have missions? :confused3

I think you look adorable in the princess bucket hat. :goodvibes

Snowy is a beautiful kitty!

You've got me thinking I may have to try out the KP missions on my half-marathon trip. Think the boys will be mad that I get to try it before they do? :rolleyes1

Hi Amy!!:goodvibes

I'm loving all your Epcot pictures!!:thumbsup2

Oohh...I like the pressed penny book idea. We have quite a few pressed pennies from our trips....I'm not sure why I never thought to buy the book to hold them.:confused3

Yay for saving China! The KP missions are always so much fun!:)

First, so sorry to hear about Tim's Grandma. My thoughts are with you and the family during this time of grieving.

That kimono is gorgeous! We did the KP mission in China as well...so fun!

Love the souvenir purchases. We have that Jedi Mickey too...Jonah got it from a friend who visited WDW. SO cute. The pressed penny books are great! My boys still take theirs out now and then to look at all their pennies. :thumbsup2 Grumpy pants...LOL! :lmao:

Thanks - we love having a kitty again! Even Alex likes having him around. :goodvibes

You should definitely "test" out a KP mission! :rolleyes1

We haven't really done pressed pennies at all so I thought the book would be a good way to introduce the idea to the boys. They were only $6.95 each. :thumbsup2

There were so many gorgeous kimonos in Japan! It was hard for Laura to choose!

I can't wait to start the pressed pennies iwth the boys.

After China we decided to head back to Future World to get a FP for Test Track. I wasn’t sure if Laura would like it but after explaining it to her she was game. On the way to TT we grabbed a churro at the Mexico F&W booth. It was soooooo good! It was first time trying a churro (and our only F&W booth purchase of the trip).

We grabbed a TT FP then decided to check the line at SSE. Luckily it was gone so we rode. Laura loved it!

100_2341.jpg

100_2345.jpg

We stopped in the dump area long enough to send a postcard home then headed back to TT. We cut through Innoventions… we didn’t stop to do anything but we saw the Trash exhibit, the Storm exhibit & the Sum of All Thrills. I would definitely love to visit again with the kids.

I think it was around now that we decided to spend our extra time on Saturday night back at Epcot. There was so much we still wanted to do and it was already well into the afternoon. We headed back to TT and used our FPs.

100_2347.jpg

100_2348.jpg

It was a fun ride & Laura thought her DH would really like it. We added our photo to our PP card, but somehow it didn’t end up on there? Oh well… As far as I can tell, that’s the only one missing. We checked out the gift shop and Laura found a shirt for her DH. We had it sent back to the resort along with the bag I had sent from Mousegear earlier.

We finally made it back to the WS after TT.
100_2349.jpg

100_2350.jpg

We headed back to Mexico but stopped for a couple smoothies at a little booth before Mexico. I don’t think it was a F&W booth, just a regular Epcot booth. I took a few pictures of La Cantina as we entered Mexico:
100_2351.jpg

100_2352.jpg

100_2353.jpg

100_2354.jpg

We checked out Mexico but didn’t ride with Donald because we couldn’t take our drinks with us and we weren’t willing to ditch them yet.
100_2355.jpg

100_2356.jpg

After Mexico we moved on to Norway. We checked out the shops first while we finished our smoothies (which is why I only have one photo) then got in line for Maelstrom.
100_2357.jpg

We had finished our drink by then but it didn’t seem to matter as there were a couple people in line with drinks. Laura got a bit nervous when we went backward and then when we dropped, but she did fine.

After Norway we skipped China, since we’d been there for our KP mission, and headed to Germany. We browsed the shops and somehow didn’t realize the caramel shop was new and totally missed it! Here are some little trinkets I meant to pick up but somehow forgot? :rolleyes1:

After Germany was Italy! It was only about 6pm and our ADR at Via Napoli wasn’t until 7pm. I was glad we had gone with the 7pm ADR rather than the 5:45 I had originally made. We definitely wouldn’t have been hungry by then. We passed Italy and visited the America pavilion. Sorry no pictures!! Taylor Dane was giving a concert when we walked by.
100_2374.jpg

It was very loud, but sounded pretty good. I remembered quite a few of her songs. We decided to catch the American Adventure. I had never seen it before and enjoyed it.

Continued from previous post...

After the American Adventure we went back to Italy.
100_2364.jpg

100_2365.jpg

It was only about 6:40 so we checked out the shops a little then we checked in for our ADR.
100_2366.jpg

We probably waited about 10 minutes. I requested and outdoor seat, but somehow the CM misunderstood me?? We were seated by a window, looking back out onto the courtyard.

The inside of the restaurant from our table:

100_2370.jpg

And this was our view out the window:
100_2369.jpg

The restaurant was beautiful, but the service was a bit slow. We each ordered a glass of sangria:
100_2372.jpg

Laura with a funny look on her face as she sips her sangria:
100_2373.jpg

We split an individual sized margherita pizza:
100_2371.jpg

We weren’t sure if we would be allowed to split the small pizza but they said no problem. It was just enough to fill us up after the big lunch, even though it was several hours ago. Plus we had plans for dessert. We thought the bad service might have been due to our small order, but from reviews that I have read, it seems as though service has been slow since they opened. The pizza was really good, as was the sangria!

After dinner we headed to France. Taylor Dane was playing again & the crowd was certainly enjoying it.
100_2377.jpg

There were people dancing in the “street” who appeared to have had a tiny bit too much to drink. When we got to France we knew right where to go! We headed to Boulangerie Patisserie for some dessert! I got a chocolate mousse & I think Laura got a chocolate croissant? We stopped briefly at a bench in the France courtyard to get organized and take a few bits of our desserts and decided to head back to the Boardwalk. It was about 8:30 and we were beat! We were planning to be back at Epcot the next night so we thought we would see how good the view was from our balcony tonight & catch Illuminations in the park the next night. We headed back to BWI and saw a magician performing on the boardwalk. We stopped for a couple minutes but wanted to be settled in before Illuminations.

100_2381.jpg

100_2383.jpg

100_2385.jpg

We totally forgot we had two Soarin’ FPs left… we knew we might not ride again, but had planned to give the FPs away. Oh well…

When we got back to the room we got settled on the balcony & checked in at home too. We couldn’t see the low parts of Illuminations, which we kind of expected, but the high stuff was great!

After Illuminations we headed back out to the Boardwalk to find Character Carnival (no packages there yet) & to get our mugs filled. We got coffee (decaf) to go with what was left of our desserts. We also bought some bottled water for the room. Back in the room we had a few more bites of dessert & got ready for bed. We were asleep by 10:30-11:00. Again, I slept surprisingly well!!! (I usually don’t sleep well in hotels AT ALL!) Laura’s feet held up really well. The blister band aid seemed to have done the trick and her ankles were OK too! She made sure to take Advil on a regular basis through the day to stay ahead of any pain.

To add to Alex's Mickey collection... I'm not sure if I found them all or not:
100_2624.jpg

we have a Minnie collection the alter ego of your's

And these cool buttons that each say three expressions in that character's voice:
100_2620.jpg

Yoda says, "Judge me by my size, do you?", "May the force be with you." and "Powerful you have become, the dark side I sense in you."

Darth Vader says, "You don't know the power of the dark side", "I am your father" and heavy breathing. :rotfl:

very cool! I will have to find those in Nov. and send one to my cousin/Godson, when he was little he used to say "Luke, I'm your Father" all the time...do you remember what store you found these (Tatouine Traders)

I had a favor to do for Julie (mousescrapper)... she wanted a princess bucket hat. In this awful picture, I was trying to give Julie a sense of the size:

:rotfl: you did post the picture...and to clarify...that hat is not for me but for my daughter Amy was a great sport helping me out

After lunch we browsed in the shops in Japan. Laura was really considering buying a kimono for her older daughter as a souvenir and Halloween costume. We looked at them, took some pictures and I even tried one on.

you look great...now I hope you didn't steal my thunder for my scavenger/photo picture in Jan

I can't believe you only got one thing from the F&W F booths....that senstitive tummy of yours ;) looks like you and Laura are having a wonderful time, great weather and low crowds :thumbsup2
