No internet

We are going out of town for over a week to a location without internet.

It will be great for DH and the family to not surf and get back to IRL.

However I have points listed and it is required that you respond every 7 days. Is there a way to get an exemption for no internet? Just a one time thing.

I am assuming that you mean you have points listed for sale.
If so you will need to work that out with your broker not DVC.
Maybe you can just call in to the broker.

Goodness, I am so sorry for not being clear with my post.

I have points listed for rent here on the DVC forum, rent subsection.

The rule is that you must bump up every 7 days but I will be without internet, unless I can find some free in Luxor the day we go there.

I can't bump my listing or respond as I won't have internet. I don't want to break the rules either and not be able to list my points.

I'd suggest just waiting to list until you get back. If you can't respond to inquiries the renters will probably move on anyway and will likely be disappointed that they didn't hear anything. That's not answering about the board rules just more of a relationship courtesy to people looking to rent.

Do you have another family member that you can give your ID and PSW to, so that they can do it one time during the week while you are away?

i would ask to have the listing removed/closed, and repost the points when you have access again..

leaving it up while being unable to respond really isn't fair to potential renters

If you have a smart phone DIS does have an app that works quite well. You could keep up with your listing that way. I can't imagine being w/o internet access...like being w/o air...

While I favor the idea of turning off the ad while you are away (for reasons related to timely response to potential renters), I think you (OP) could easily keep up to date with a smartphone. Africa is quickly expanding their tech savvy in the mobile department. We purchased pre-paid sims for our existing devices on our last visit and had great coverage (voice and data).

Just close your thread before you leave. Then resubmit it when you return.

Sounds like you are going to Egypt (because if it were the Luxor in Las Vegas, you'd have internet acess, LOL). Have fun!
