No hot tubs at Disney value resorts

A hot tub sure feels good on my sore knees after a long day in the parks. So yes, I would go in one, even in the summer.

I certainly would!
My body loves a hot tub after a long day at the parks.
Since I often stay at a value resort I don't get the chance to relax in one.
I'll be staying in a vacation house that has one when I go in April and I can't wait.
I'll also be staying in a hotel that has one when I go to DLR in June.
I myself have a hot tub at home but unfortunately there is a leak that no one can find in order to fix and we were tired of wasting water filling it all the time but we used to use it year round.

I just didn't think people would still want to use them in hot and humid weather. Please keep in mind, I've never been to Florida.

I don't like public hot tubs, but at Disney I am slightly more inclined ........... but hot tub in summer - that is a no for me other than maybe sitting on edge with feet in just for the soothing of the muscles. Evenings are still too hot and I'd rather the regular pool for refreshing swim.

Keep in mind that the pools get to be like bath water in the summer.
Refreshing for a few minutes but after that not so much so going into a hot tub and then into a pool would feel pretty good if you're hot.

After a long day in the parks, going down and sitting for five or ten minutes in a hot tub and having the jets kicking at your muscles at what is supposed to be a kid reduced environment is much better than going out to a swimming pool with kids of all ages splashing and jumping and yelling.

Absolutely, yes! This is my hangup about staying at a value resort, and why I'm considering staying offsite in May. My 8yo especially loves the hot tub, even in Summer. It's a great way to relax at the end of a park day.

Considering the pools at WDW are temp controlled at the 'warm bath water' setting year round, I remember the hot tub being only slightly warmer than the pool. It was not uncomfortable to sit in even in September. I haven't been in a WDW pool or tub since. That was like 5 1/2 years ago. I would rather have a cold pool and a hot tub. Since that doesn't happen at WDW I just skip it.

If you've never been to Florida, that means you've never been to Walt Disney World. And if you've never been to Walt Disney World, that means your muscles have never been sore from head to toe and inside out from walking 10 or more miles a day in the parks. Depending on how sore they are, even in the middle of the summer people may very well use a hot tub. Just not at the values.

I would use a hot tub/spa in the cool of a summer's evening with an adult beverage (in a plastic cup). That said, even at the moderates, just because there are hot tubs, doesn't mean that there is space available. Out of say 1200 rooms holding 3 people at 95% occupancy, you have a potential of 3400 people competing for the one or two spas available.

IDK man, we were at CBR during Memorial Day week in 2015 and the hot tubs were never really over-crowded. It's not like all "3400" of those people are going to the pool/hot tubs at the same time (or the food court, arcade, bus, etc for that matter)

I also have to mention that every time I come back to this thread, I'm reminded of the old SNL James Brown skit where he sings "Too hot for the hot tub!" :rotfl: If you've never seen it, look it up!

I've never been in a hot tub in the moderates without a gaggle of younguns jumping around in them. It's not as bad at the deluxe resorts quiet pools since the kids tend to stay at the main pools. The moderates don't have hot tubs at the quiet pools. I go in them all year round, I also have one at home and I live in Georgia, trust me there are plenty of summer evenings I'm in the hot tub. And just for the record, I eat ice cream in the winter too. Saturday night it was around 20 degrees here and I was very happily drinking a mint white chocolate milkshake from Arbys while we were driving home.

Not trying to start a fight but I thought the minimum age for the hot tub was 12? Maybe that is without an adult but not sure. Did a quick google search and couldn't find anything and have to leave the boards to get to an appointment so don't want this to escalate, just wanted information.

As far as I know that's the age for using them without supervision.
