No HBO? No Cinemax?

I feel so out of the loop. It seems that EVERYONE is talking about The Sopranos and Sex in the City. We don't have HBO. I've never seen The Sopranos. I watched SitC in a hotel once. When the awards shows are on and all those HBO/Cinemax programs win, I have no clue!

Of course we don't get Disney Channel either so this obsession it seems the world has with The Wiggles and Bear in the Big Blue House just doesn't make sense either.

Our basic cable is just that...basic. So sad sometimes.

I don't have HBO, Skinamax...I mean Cinamax, or Showtime. I do have The Disney Channel though and it's just not what it use to be. It has COMERCIALS now. What's up with that???

We got a free preview of Showtime a while back ago and I got to see a new show called Odyssy (sp?) or something like that about the Earth disappearing or something. It was really good but I can't watch it b/c I don't have Showtime :( I've been trying to talk DH into getting it though.

No cable here, so I'm also out of the loop. I know Bear from when we played his videos at TDS, and from watching TDC at my mom's. Wiggles..???

No HBO, Showtime or Cinemax here either. I'm too cheap and I don't want the kids watching them either.
I read somewhere that only a small percentage (3%) has HBO. If that's true there are alot of people who go to their friends house to watch sex in the city.

Neither here, I am too cheap and even during the free preview, which I assume they put their best stuff on, I don't find them too appealing.

We don't have HBO, Cinemax or any other premium channels. When I had them I hardly watched them so now we don't see the need to have anything besides Standard Cable.

We have satellite. We get the basic plus HBO, 6 hbo channels, I think, and 8 Showtime, 2 movie channels, flix, indepent movie channel. I love SINTC and Chris Isaak. Don't like Sopranos but DH does. He likes 6 feet under too. I prefer HGTV and Travel channel.:D

Nah... never have seen enough stuff on those channels to make them worth the cost per month. We have one of them right now at the house, not sure which 'cause I didn't pay attention, but it's only for two months because of the discount we got for two months

I'm cheap about everything else so I can splurge on WDW.

Dont like them even with the free previews as well.

I'm not to fond o fthe programming either. I know for a fact, one person at work tapes those shows and passes around a videotape at work for those who don't have have HBO.

I know what you mean! We don't have eithe. Sometimes I feel very out of the loop. The only time I ever saw Sex in the City was for a few minutes at WDW while DH and I were getting ready to go out to dinner.

We have HBO, but not Skinamax (had a free preview last weekend, and it was like an X-rated movie fest!)

One of the main reasons I like having the premium channels is to avoid all the mindless canned in laughter sitcoms on ABC/CBS/NBC. And since when to the term referred to as a "female dog" become acceptable on primetime at 8PM?

Another HBO exclusive is "Autopsy" (very similar to CSI--only better) and "HBO Undercover." Both are very informative programs.

Another HBO special that I've promoted time and time again is "Earth, The American Dream." I'm sure you can rent it at your local library. Every person should see it at least once.

We used to have them, but decided to "do without them" for awhile and see how it went. That was about two years, or more, ago....we didn't miss 'em at all! :D

I must have my HBO Sunday nights. No negotiating. Since I don't watch network TV, it's important for me to get my soap opera fix somewhere else.

What I miss out on is when someone's talking about a cute commercial and I haven't seen it. Everything else on Network TV you can have. I also don't necessarily pay for watching it all the time, I pay for the convenience of having something interesting to watch in case I'm awake at 3:00am. Infomercials don't count as "something interesting".
