No Grumpy Guses Allowed! Updated 5/15- We have plane tickets!

Hi Hope!!! Welcome back!! :rolleyes1 You know, postponing is not a BAD thing!! At least you are not cancelling altogether, right? And Disney at Christmas is more special than usual and you're right --- more gingerbread houses! Oh, I know what you mean about the kids growing up. It doesn't seem possible Victoria is driving (still with a permit) and looking at colleges. I don't know what I'm going to do when my mini-me is gone off to college. Sigh! But hey, you are basically all planned, so now we wait....and wait.....and wait......ugh!! But you have an excuse to celebrate day 200 all over again! Yay!!! :daisy:

Looking forward to more of your plans.

Oh, I'm taking Jace to get his permit TODAY! So happy/sad/scared all at once!

And you're right, we're not canceling and there's so much to look forward to about Christmas at Disney. :goodvibes:

Just checking in. :)

Thanks! I'm such a bad diser, I'm glad it hasn't chased everyone away!

We have plane tickets!!!!
I actually got them yesterday but didn't have time to post. We're flying Southwest, they are the only non-stop option for our dates (Apparently Frontier does seasonal flights to Orlando from St. Louis but November/December is not that season.

We should arrive in Orlando at around 12:30 on November 30th. Hopefully that will give us time to be at DHS by 3:00. The park closes at 8:00 PM and our list of things we want to do at this park is relatively short so it should be perfect. :thumbsup2:

We'll leave December 4th at around 3:30. I think this will put us on ME at around 11:30/12:00. This will give us time to sleep in a bit from the party the night before and grab a late breakfast/early lunch plus some snacks for traveling at the food court. Also perfect!

Our times are great for our flights but they were a bit pricier than I expected. It would still cost about the same to drive though by the time we paid for a car rental, gas, hotel, food while traveling, etc. so still worth it to fly.

When I get my sub pay this month I'll probably buy Kya's park ticket then I can start stashing away extra money for food and souvenirs. :D

Woohoo on plane tickets!! That purchase makes it very real!!!

Sorry they were more expensive than you thought. I feel like flights are WAY over priced these days.

Loving your PTR! We're going to just pass by each other... I'm arriving on Dec. 4th!

Looking forward to planning along with you! :cutie:

Yes, it makes it VERY real!! I agree that tickets are high these days. but it was still just as cheap as driving so that makes me happy! :goodvibes

:welcome: and thank you for chiming in! I'm starting to get really excited about being ther in December! :santa:

Finally got around to updating my signature... look at that ticker, all the way back at the beginning.:sad::sad:

YAYAYAYAYAYAYAY! for plane tickets. That is certainly a milestone that always makes it feel very real for me. I'm sure you're doing a banana dance!

Once again, I am just so far behind! I have the WORST internet service at home (I'm at work now) and we can pretty much only be doing one thing at a time online. And since I live with two teenagers I have to squeeze in my time between downloads and Netflix viewing. :badpc:

And speaking of teenagers... my favorite travel companion had birthday!

In case you're not sure she's the one on the far right in the front. It was a big birthday- she turned 15 so a few days later we went to get her driver's permit! :car::eek::faint:

In addition to celebrating birthdays we've also had some Disney related celebrating to do... we're finally under 180 days so we have ADRs! party:

I didn't exactly get everything I wanted but it was pretty close. We have breakfast at 1900 PF on our first full day and lunch at Be our Guest later that same day. I'd really hoped for dinner at BOG just because we like the menu more but I'll take lunch. Beauty and the Beast is Kya's favorite Disney movies so this is a must for us and if we're still full of strawberry soup we'll just have some grey stuff- I hear it's delicious!:duck: We also have lunch at RFC on our last full day. That's our party day and we'll spend the morning/early afternoon at DTD before heading to MK at 4:00.

And because it's been so long since I've updated I have even more news... I ordered our party tickets! And customized our magic bands! All I have left to do is order our park tickets. I thought I had my ticket taken care of because I ordered a discounted TA ticket... but since it's picked up at will call and paid for then it doesn't come with a confirmation number to enter into MDE. Which means no FP+ advanced reservations! :sad2: So, I'm paying full price for my ticket because I'm NOT giving up my FP+ choices! We still get a great rate on the room and I'll also get my full commission (the agency usually keeps 40% but they waive that for personal travel). I hadn't figured the commission reimbursement for Kya's ticket when I was budgeting AND the TA tickets aren't that great of a discount if you just want base tickets because you HAVE to buy hoppers and waterpark 'n more. Still cheaper than rack rate for a base ticket BUT when I figure in my commission that I hadn't before and I stick with base tickets I'm only $40 off from my original budget. And FP+ is SOOOO worth $40!! pixiedust::genie:

That's it for now I guess. I'd planned to throw up a few pics from DC and call it a mini-tr but after I posted the above pic from Kya's birthday photobucket went all wonky and won't let me see my bucket. So, you'll just have to keep waiting...

Okay, I have to get back to work... to those of you whose PTR and TRs I haven't visited in forever, I promise I'll get to it... as soon as I can get the boy to stop downloading video games. Or he moves out which will probably come first.

Glad to hear ADRs were a semi success; you hear such horror stories these days so anything good I consider a plus.

Too bad about the tickets. We had planned to change everything now that sis is a CM, but in the end the convenience was better than the cost.

Oh, one last thing...

Happy Belated birthday to your DD!!! 15 is a big one!!
