No good rotten very bad day! (long sorry)

Im going through something like this with my DD. Its been a fight with the school for the last 2 years. They do things like send home a letter stating she is on the honor roll then on the same day say that she is remedial and needs after school tutoring to prepare for state mandated tests that she will be taking 2 years from now, I take it in stride and know my child better than anyone. Thats what you have to have faith in. You know your child.

Hugs from someone who knows what you go thru! You have to trust yourself & stand up for yourself in those meetings. I think you did fine by getting them to agree to wait on K. My 1st grade son has been in so many therapies & works twice as hard as everyone else just to maintain. It's hard then to hear someone then shoot down your hopes. I had a meeting today at school as well and was shot down too with the line "he may always have that choppy robot sounding speech". Awwww, so hard to hear as we do so much Speech T. I was just like "surely it will be ok by say 5th grade?" Then I got the line about how he won't be reading outloud and such by then, so it won't be an issue. Huhhh?? Ahggghh. I just wanted to run home & cry. That won't solve anything, so I am prepared dig into our retirement fund to get intense summer therapy, NOT thru the school. Hugs to you.
