This could be invaluable to anyone travelling on a budget. Anyone have recipes for lunches, etc that I can make in advance that don't get refrigerated AND don't get re-heated?

Things that live in my hotel rooms, even w/o a fridge. I am a veggie who grew up in Europe, so I may have different tastes/likes...

- bananas
- apples
- oranges
- nutella
- peanut butter
- melba toast
- hummus spread (needs refrigerating after you open it - don't buy the one from the dairy case already refrigerated)
- convenience veggies (ie broccoli, carrots, etc - don't last too long though)
- mini bagels
- mini pita bread (ok, sounds weird, but heat them on the base of the coffee maker)
- tea

If I have a fridge, then it's a whole different story!!! you could also consider canned fish (tuna, sardines, etc) and noodle soup which you can make with hot water from the coffee maker. that's all I can think of - would love to see the responses!

They have those tuna or chicken salad kits--our your could just bring your own canned/pouch tuna or chicken and use mayo/mustard/relish packets to fix it to your liking. Eaten with crackers and some fruits or vegetables you've got a filling healthy meal!

Shelf stable tortillas are great too--you can make roll ups with bean spread and salsa, peanut butter and jelly, or the above mentioned tuna/chicken salad.

Whoops, posted to the wrong thread - please forgive me as I edit my way off this thread... :cool1: :cool1: (sorry)
