I just called WDW-DINE and trying to make reservations for 6 people for any of the restaurants we wanted was impossible. I was flexible with times and dates, and there was nothing left for Le Cellier, Liberty Tree on the MNSSHP night, one Chef Mickey's at 8:45 pm (not doable with a 3 year old) nothing left for Akershus breakfasts, Ohana dinners or 1900 Park Faire.

Same here but I don't care. I have free dining so I'll use all the counter services and probably leave with left over table services.

You can usually always get the buffets like Cape May, etc.

I rather not be tied down every night, anyway.

Only ressie I made for my entire week so far in sept is Kona Cafe.

If you have to try Boatwrights at POR, or some of the other TS in the resorts. Maybe use 2 and do the Hoop De Do or Luau.

I'm not surprised- those are popular places/times, they were probably sold out before free dining was ever offered. I'm guessing there's still spots in some of the less popular theme park restaurants and definitely in the resorts.

Yeah, those usually book right at the 6 month advance mark. You might want to try any of the following as they have always allowed walk-ins when I've visited in September:
- Olivia's (OKW)
- Maya Grill (Coronado Springs)
There are also a few same day and next day cancellations. I was able to get a 1 day ADR for lunch at Le Cellier. Here is some other helpful info:

I got a few of those but i booked on monday and crossed my fingers for 2 rooms for today. (party of 8)
royal table, coral reef, O'hana, arkershus ....

Sorry for your bad luck . Keep calling in a few days or weeks:confused3 You can get lucky :flower3:

I called back and got the most helpful CM! Ohana, Coral Reef and Le Cellier were all gone, but I did book Garden Grill, 1900 Park Fare dinner, Akershus breakfast, Donald's breakfast, Chef Mickeys dinner (8pm but I'm hoping I can change that later) and we got the Spirit of Aloha :thumbsup2 Now we have to convince the kids that cancelling the cruise to go to WDW during free dining to save a ton of money is a good thing!

A lot of those restaurants were fully booked on Monday. I looked into changing my dates from October to September for the free dining and decided not to because I either couldn't get into any of the restaurants I wanted at all or I couldn't get in until after 8 pm for dinner and that's not going to work with a 4 y.o. Since I already had 40% off on my room for my October dates I stayed with that. Free dining would have saved a little, but not enough to not be able to eat when and where I wanted to.

In anticipation of free dining there were quite a few people who went ahead and booked a resort at 180 days out just so they could make ADRs using the 180+10 rule. I know we did. At exactly 181 days out I booked PORS, mainly so I would have my ADRs in place if free dining was offered. We already knew that if it was offered we were going to upgrade to the DxDDP for the price difference, so made ADRs for three meals/day. If free dining wasn't offered we would have changed the resort, went with an AP discount, bought the basic DDP, and then would have cancelled alot of our ADRs. I'm quite sure others did the same thing, in order to make sure they had the ADRs they wanted. There was even a thread not to long ago asking if people were booking their resort and making ADRs in anticipation of free dining.

However, there will be some who have to cancel for one reason or another, so keep calling as ADRs open up all the time.

The above posters were right, I suspect many booked at their 180 day mark...I did, we were goign to be there either way (free or not), and I'm a party of 7 techincally (the baby counts too). I knew I'd need to get them secured b/c once free dining was announced they'd fill up.

I also booked ADRs at the 180 day mark...without a reservation. Just in the hopes I'd be able to get the days I wanted. For our four day vacation I got Chef Mickeys at 5:05, LeCellier at 5:05, SciFi at 5:10 and 'Ohana at at 5:15. We like to eat early, since that's what we do at home.

We had already made our ADR's for Sept several weeks ago because we had booked the free dining for Sept through the bounceback offer. :)
Our 180+10 day for Sept was March 19th.

I was fully prepared not to get many on my wish list, becase I was booking my ADR's on Thursday, and we are a party of 7. I was very pleased to be able to get everything except Chef Mickeys. My ADR's

Crystal Palace (off my old ADR's)
Sci-Fi (off my old ADR's)
Hoop De Doo - changed the date from the 23rd to the 26th to use free dining
Liberty Tree - new ADR
Coral Reef - changed the date from the 21st - 28th for free dining
Tusker House - changed the date from the 24 - 27th for free dining

We are together at almost all of them, only for two did we have to seperate into two tables. I would say keep trying, as I know that I cancelled out some of my old ADR dates (we were originally to stay the 21 - 26th, and I changed to 24 - 30th) so hopefully something will come up for you!

Yes, they are filling fast! Could not get dinner at 50s Prime Time Cafe a few days ago (EMH late night though so I figured it would be a long shot). My Akershus Bfst only had 2 choices left and Ohana I had to take 8 PM which is okay with us as we are from West Coast and never really adjust to the time change right away.

I am just happy to get some TS ADRs and will likely be asking guest services at Pop to convert a few of our TS to CS meals. I know this is not policy but I am hoping for a nice CM. Towards the end of our last trip, we were done with sit down restaurants.

I feel really lucky. I got ADR's last week when I booked the "just in case free dining is offered" rooms. It sounds like it's a good thing I did. I got really good times (IMO) and we're a party of 9!

Here's my list:

9/11 - 12:45 p.m. 50's Prime Time Cafe
9/12 - 9:15 a.m. Crystal Palace
9/13 - 1:15 p.m. Le Cellier - a little later than I'd like, but still good
9/14 - 4:30 p.m. Grand Gathering Experience - Safari Celebration (2 TS)
9/15 - 12:30 p.m. Wolf Gang Puck Cafe
9/16 - 12:30 p.m. Play N' Dine at Hollywood and Vine
9/17 - 9:00 a.m. Grand Gathering Experience - Good Morning Character Breakfast
9/18 - 5:00 p.m. Hoop Dee Doo Review (2 TS)
9/19 - 5:40 p.m. Boatwright's at POR
9/20 - 5:50 p.m. Coral Reef
9/21 - 4:55 p.m. Boma
9/22 - 7:15 pm. O'Hana - this is our last night and we thought we'd do MK then hop the monorail to Poly - hop it back and get the bus.

I think those are all good places and good times. Many of them we haven't tried yet and so that's part of the fun right??:thumbsup2

Good luck to everyone still getting ADR's - here's some Pixie Dust for youpixiedust:

I booked yesterday morning. Made ADRs yesterday afternoon. Granted we aren't a party of 6 (only 4) but I got everything we wanted and times we wanted to boot. I had choice of times at most restaurants.

I got Crystal Palace, Chef Mickey's breakfast, Tusker House breakfast w/Donald, 1900 Park Fare, Kona Cafe, Biergarten and yes the much sought after LeCellier. I was prepared to switch nights around for LeCellier but I got the night I wanted - I was even willing to try lunch. Just keep trying.

Why not book lunch instead?

I just called WDW-DINE and trying to make reservations for 6 people for any of the restaurants we wanted was impossible. I was flexible with times and dates, and there was nothing left for Le Cellier, Liberty Tree on the MNSSHP night, one Chef Mickey's at 8:45 pm (not doable with a 3 year old) nothing left for Akershus breakfasts, Ohana dinners or 1900 Park Faire.

I just called, fully expecting the need to be flexible, since we are a party of 8. We got everything we wanted, times we wanted: Boma, San Angel, Kona. Granted it's a short trip. But I was pleasantly surprised. I told the CM the dates and times we wanted, and she said OK.

I called last week knowing once people booked their rooms the times would start filling up. We got Ohana, 50's Prime Time, California Grill, Yachtsman Steakhouse, Liberty Tree for MNSSHP, Whispering Canyon, and Princess Storybook. The only one I had to work around times for was California Grill. All others are between 5 and 5:30. I would keep calling as people will cancel as the time gets closer.

Good Luck!!
