No fastpass+ for friends?

Having received a 20% off discount offer e-mail from Disney, I booked a two night reservation at All-Star Resort, customized my magic bands, and made fastpass+ selections.

Then, a friend who works at WDW decided to vacation with me and booked for me a room at a friends and family rate saving just a relatively small amount of money from the discounted rate I already had. But, I said what the heck, and, since he had already made the reservation for me, I cancelled my original reservation.

Now, it looks like I no longer am eliglible for fastpass+???? :confused3

I go to My Disney Experience and cannot even access fastpass + :furious:

The only reason I booked a room on WDW property was to get fastpass+!!!

Do family and friends "2nd room"s not get fastpass+?

I need help! Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer... If no fastpass+ I am cancelling this and will stay offsite, since I can no longer get the great rate I originally had booked.

what type of tickets do you have? Did you have a package booked prior to cancelling?

I was able to link my Seasonal AP to my room, which was the second room booked by a cast member. I was also able to order Magic Bands for this trip, about a month ago. The irony is that the cast member wasn't able to participate in FP+. At this point, her cast member park access doesn't allow the MDE we enjoyed.

I have no-expiration park hoppers that are linked to my Disney experience account. I had no trouble making fastpass+ selections on my first ressie....

A resort reservation just gets you a magic band. You have to link tickets to your MDE account in order to access FP+.

ETA: Just saw your post. Is your new reservation showing up on your MDE account? If not, and if it is on your friend's account, make sure you are linked together.

I was able to order magic bands - that is the irony - why can I not add fastpass+?

The reservation is showing up on my account. But there is no longer a link to fastpass+ like there used to be with my original reservation.

I had to do a little cleanup with my address. The friends and family room was originally linked to her address not mine. I am not saying what worked, for a while, a month ago, still works. It's worth at try on the MyDisneyExperience area of the main website, top right of the wdw main page...

Did you change dates or are they the same as the original reservation?

Same dates, although my friend did put my first name in slightly differently, using the nickname rather than my formal name. I wonder if that is causing a problem. I notice now that I am listed (nickname) as a friend of myself!

Thanks to everyone for your input I will call tech support if all else fails...

Not sure if that would cause an issue or not, but it is certainly possible. I would call IT. They should be able to fix it for you. Good luck! :goodvibes

Thanks Smitch, I'll buy you a beer at Timothy's if I ever run into you on Brown Street! :disrocks:

I was successful by contacting web support and getting my name on the ressie in sync with my name in my Disney account.

I also had to update the Disney app on my I-phone.....

I would go in and try to re-link or just call web support.

Thanks everyone, tech support straightened me out. It was a problem related to two different versions of my first name, they had to link me to myself!

Everything went smoothly -thanks to tech support...and to you folks at DIS
