No Excursions in Port Canaveral?

Am I missing something or does Disney not offer these? If we have a later flight with Disney transfers to MCO is it possible to do something privately and still take advantage of the Disney transfers to MCO? When is the last transfer? I am thinking Kennedy Space Center but open to other suggestions. I have never seen a line without disembarkation excursions. It is usually their last chance to get money out of you, and those with later flights' best chance at getting off the ship at a decent time. Thanks.

Have never seen a disembarkation excursion with DCL. Once you get off you're on your own unless waiting for transportation to the airport
or to WDW, etc.

If you have some time to spend in the port area before your flight home would recommend a visit to Exploration Tower situated along the
port channel. Lots of exhibits, both visual and hands-on, in there and a wonderful 7th floor observation deck overlooking the entire port area.
Shops and restaurants are also close by as well.

DCL offers a disembarkation excursion in Miami but I saw nothing for Port Canaveral... That's too bad because the potential is there.

No debarkation excursions are offered in Port Canaveral. The last bus for the airport transfers typically departs around 9:30-9:45. No way to do much of anything before that. DCL needs those same busses to transport people TO the port from WDW resorts and MCO later that day.

I agree that it's a shame no disembarkation tours are offered. Most other lines have great options for people with later flights. It's one more reason why I've started booking with other cruise lines. I love DCL and would still book them over other cruises if I can find a great deal, but the value just keeps dropping compared to other cruise lines. They may be able to keep drawing in new cruisers and a few die hard fans who believe anything with Disney in the name is automatically better, but I wonder how they manage to hold people who do their research and value their vacation dollar.

Most people rent a car (there are quite a few PC rental locations with shuttles from the port) and then drop it at MCO.

It's a bummer they don't offer anything. It's such a nice option with other lines. A place to keep luggage, something to do, and a shuttle to the airport. What could be better?

We keep universal APs and generally have a free rental car to use, so we have gone and spent a few hours there. Works best when we use the onboard airline checkin service for bags. I do NOT like leaving bags in a vehicle!

Thanks all. And to confirm, is Southwest still NOT part of the onboard airline check-in service? Southwest and AA are pretty much my only direct flights from PHL to MCO. Thanks.

Correct, SouthWest is not a participant in the Onboard Airline Check in.
