Our children, DD 14, DD 12 and DS 11, were getting a little too lazy. And the attitudes that went with it, had to go. First I blocked out MTV and VH1(only a few shows they watched on that channel, but were to much of an influence). Then with all the tit for tat about who's been on VMK the longest or played PS2 too long.....I had it.
So we enforced a no electronics for one week. It was the best week. One day it was raining a few drops and they were outside playing!!!!!!!! If they would have been able to play PS2 or watch TV, they would not have been out! The homework was done in a timely manner and they were even curtious to each other. Bed time came without too much of a problem. We played family wiffle ball until dark and we could'nt see the ball anymore.
Now the week is over any they're crying for their electonics back. It's starting all over again........
