I have been selected to make a treat for my DD6 Halloween party on Fri. We found out today that there is a child in the class that is allergic to peanuts and eggs. I have always just make cupcakes for the parties. Anyone her have any suggestions on a yumy treat for the kids that does not have eggs or peanuts. TIA

Jello Jigglers -- in the Halloween molds if you can get them, or use Halloween cookie cutters to cut them out.

How about Rice Krispy Treats? Kids love them and you can put Halloween sprinkles on them to make them more festive.

Since it is Rice Krispy cereal and Marshmallows, I think you'd be safe.

Another idea would caramel apples.

Hope this helps!

Thanks, I just went to the Rice Krispy web site and they have cute ideas on there. Thanks for the tip.

"Magic Wands"

Pretzel rods dipped in white chocolate and sprinkled with Halloween sprinkles or orange sugar. Cheap and fast to make, and DD6 can help with the decorating! :goodvibes

Happy Halloween :)

That sounds like a lot of fun. Thanks!

I don't think chips have eggs or peanuts in them. Not too sure though...

If you go onto any vegan recipe website you'll find quite a few recipes for treats.

I read on the disabilities board that oreos aren't peanut safe. You would want to check the label and anything that says processed in same facility as peanuts would be out of the question. They make peanut butter oreos so I think that probably contaminates all oreos.

We always bring in popsicles when my sons class has a party..they have egg/peanut allergies too. Kids love popsicles!!!:thumbsup2

Oreos won't work for peanut/egg allergies.

Cakes can be made without eggs. Someone on TV the other day made a chocolate cake from a mix, but substituted a can of pumpkin for the eggs and oil, so it was still moist, but lower in calories. Maybe the kids wouldn't know the difference.

Thank you for all the replies. Very good ideas. Think I might try the rice krispy treats.

Can you call the child's parent and get clarification about the allergies? That would help you get some ideas

My son is allergic to peanuts and eggs (along with another 15 things or so). I know he can NOT eat marshmallow with the egg allergy, so check on that (they use egg whites). Many items are made in factories that process both eggs and peanuts. You have to read the packaging of every ingredient very carefully. Have you talked to the allergic child's mom? I don't allow my child to eat any item that is not made in my kitchen by my hands. She may not want you to give him anything (cross contamination is too too easy in someone's kitchen that is not used to food allergies)

I vote for rice krispy treats...you can cut them out with a cookie or biscuit cutter if you have time.
