NO CRT...Accidentally missed my 180 days by 1 day!!

I had an entire spreadsheet of reservations ready to make at 6:50 AM on the 180 day mark (thought it was today), and didn't realize I could have called YESTERDAY until yesterday at 2PM!! Unfortunately, this goof did not allow me to get a ressie at CRT breakfast during my ENTIRE 10 day trip!! I am totally shocked that mid October, is THAT busy!! I am so bummed. I did get all of my other reservations no problem, but I am so mad at myself!
I just thought I would vent...Has anyone else had trouble with CRT breakfast?

Not sure if CRT is your favorite or what....BUT...last year it was my most disappointing meal of the trip.

You could try the Norway princess breakfast at EPCOT - I've heard great things about it and it's a lot easier to get.

I would call exactly 180 days out of the day you wanted the reservation. Something about they unlock the rest of the tables for that time. Not exactly why. But that's what I did. I thought I had missed my chance last year, and I simply called 180 days out from the day I wanted on my trip and I got what I wanted. Hope this helps.

you might want to keep trying...someone is bound to cancel...especially since some folks are shifting ressies out of oct to get free dining in sept. hope you get what you want...we are going to princess brkfst at epcot instead...sounds like the better deal...more princesses for the money

that is correct. i've heard two things on the matter:

(1) that a certain percentage of tables are released each day for 180+10 with the majority being released exactly 180 days out

(2) that CRT isn't even included in 180+10, that it's only available exactly 180 days out

many people report it is not that difficult to get with much less than 180 days out and from everything else i know, i'd be shocked if you really couldn't get it unless you were married to one specific time on one specific day.

and yes, go to CRT for the experience, not the food. (although ironically, it's the food that keeps princess storybook fairly wide open for lunch and dinner)

Thanks for the replies. We actually did book the breakfast at Norway and have never been to CRT or Norway. I have done alot of research and heard that the food was "so-so" at CRT, but I guess I just wanted to give the kids the "experience" of actually eating in the castle. I was just venting...I think I will save CRT for the next trip. We will have fun no matter what!!

Breakfast was already booked for the whole week when I called last year, at 180 days, but we had our choice of a couple of days for lunch. Try the lunch, if you can get it--we really liked the food!! And it was a good time to rest in the middle of a commando day at MK. Oh, and you get dessert with lunch, so think of that as a perk! (Can you tell I have a sweet tooth? )

What date does your trip start? We are going Oct 14th.

Just to let you know- we were scheduled to go this week (had to cancel ) but when we called for crt it was only 2 months ago and they had 2 openings for this week.
So I guess my point is ...KEEP TRYING!!!

I agree! Try calling back. I called earlier this week for an ADR for CRT in Sept.-I was told the entire week (every meal) was booked. I called back 2 days later, and they (for some strange reason) had several openings! I was able to get the day and meal I wanted.

I called about 10 days ago and got CRT for August 16th, no problem. October must be busy.

you can't change your time or day ?? I am kind of restricted because my DS has to take a nap so I took 12noon instead of breakfast (more expense but can't justify spending that for breakfast!!) I want to change days but the earliest they have is like 12:50pm, and it does make a difference with that 50 minutes, just keep calling back, every morning @7am

Like others have said call 180 days from the actual date that you want you should have no problem getting it.

We've been to both, and we much preferred the breakfast in Norway. We didn't feel as rushed, and the food just seemed better. We've done CRT once - been there, done that - will definitely be doing Norway from here on out.

Here's an update!! One of the great responders on this board suggested calling again because they do not release all of the tables 180 + 10 and I got it for the day and time I wanted - 8:15 AM on the 1st full day of our trip. What better way to start your trip than to

I am so sorry. What a bummer! You should keep trying to call back and see if there is a cancellation. A lot of times I see here on the Disboards that someone is going to cancel and they post it which I really appreciate it. There is always Norway as well. I hope that you have a nice trip. Don't give up 100% on CRT yet.

I just posted how sorry i was that you didn't get it LOL, but now I want to post that I am happy you did get it! Hooray, that is awesome news! I have 4 kids and trust me, I know how important CRT is to them. Congratulations and have a great trip!

I agree with lunch. You don't get the characters, but you do get to eat at the castle. We had lunch there a few years ago and really enjoyed the choices from the menu. It wasn't as expensive as the breakfast and it was much easier to get a ressie.

actually, CRT is a princess meal for lunch as well as breakfast.

princess storybook at akershus in norway is a princess meal for all 3 meals.
