My DS & DD are at Animal Kingdom, even as we speak! They just called to tell me that at 11:30, they had been on every ride (including Everest 2X) and the safari, with no wait and now they were going to have lunch! I love this time of year.

Whoohoo...love hearing reports like that. Hope that they are having a great day...thanks for sharing:thumbsup2

Yep it starts dying down this week until end of Feb. Anyone going in those times will enjoy.

And it's raining like crazy and looks like the weather from "The day after tomorrow" outside today...Blech!

Thanks for the update, I hope the crowds stay low as we leave in 4 days!! :cool1:

marathon this weekend will bring big crowds. i would avoid epcot and mk saturday and sunday...

We arrive on Sunday and are hitting the parks starting Monday. My neighbor left today to run the half marathon.

It's posts like this that make me curse the fact I'm a teacher. :scared: (says as I as I post from my desk on my planning period....)

YAY!! I will be there in 19 days and cant wait to get on all my favorite rides with little to no waits.

The crowds are also light at Magic Kingdom today.

The rain chased us out at around 11:45 this morning, so we came back to OKW to eat lunch. The rain stopped a while ago, but DS2 is napping, so we'll be going back as soon as he wakes up!

We've been here since the 29th, so we've really had a chance to see the crowds drop-off. And the weather has been gorgeous! Today is the first rain we've seen and the last couple of days had temps in the 80's.

Thanks for the report. We leave on Saturday...I know the crowd levels at MK will be higher on Sunday but I don't think our 3 and 5 year olds would be happy if we started out at DHS or AK first :(

My husband and I arrive on Saturday (we don't have children) and we won't be happy if we don't start at MK as well (regardless of the crowds). :lmao:

Low crowds! That's what I like to hear. I hope it stays that way when we get there in a few weeks!!

OMG! I just looked at my ticker and we leave in 16 days!

Crowds are generally low in January, but don't expect every day to be like today. The rain has a lot to do with it. For those who don't mind touring in the rain, a rainy day is a great touring day because so many people stay away from the parks.

DW and I discovered this on our honeymoon many years ago. We had three rainy days out of seven. The first rainy day we just stayed in the hotel room all day. ;) The second rainy day we figured let's go anyway... and found out how much fun it can be to walk on all the rides with little or no wait. We were actually looking forward to another rainy day before the honeymoon ended... and got one on our last day at MK. It was great...

I hope the crowds aren't TOO bad; I'll be there too! I think I asked about it before and was told (in numerous posts) that although there are crowds, it's not horrible and nothing like a holiday!
