We are not planning on going to the CP while we are at WDW.....will we be sorry? Is it really more than an elaborate Christmas program?

You can view it even if you don't have seating. Also if they do have seats available you may be able to sit down.

By your counter, it looks like you are going in early December. You should have no problem getting a standby seat mid-week. Get in line 30 minutes before. I think it's a "do not miss", especially if you are Christian.

We went to the CP in December 2002 & it was one of the highlights of our trip. We also went early in the month & were able to get a walk-up seat one evening with no problems. I'd definitely try to squeeze this one in. :)

Inspirational performance with the massed choir doing holiday songs.I find the traditional reading of the Christmas story by guest narrator lifts up my and DW's spirit's up and has become a holiday tradition for us.So if you have the opportunity I would make it part of your plans when you visit Epcot. :goodvibes :wizard: :wave2:

We did this in 2003. It was ok, but not all that I had hoped for. It was too cold that night to really enjoy the show while we sat there on the ice cold stadium benches. :cold: :cold: We actually had listened to a lot of the show while hanging around the American Pavillion a couple of days before we did CP. We enjoyed that more than being stuck with the cold and the wind that night.

We are going back to WDW this December. We did not make any plans to do CP this time. Maggie

sorry-missed this one - what's CP?

Candlelight Processional. I think it is a beautiful program. If you like traditional Christmas carols, the choir is wonderful. The celebrity narrators read portions of the Christmas story from the Bible. All in all, it is a favorite of mine and DD.

I am going on my 4th trip in Dec this year. Last year was the first time we actually sat down and listened to the whole thing. It is not to be missed! I am sorry we didn't sit to enjoy it on previous trips and will not make that mistake again! CP is a very moving experience to us! The choir, the narration of the Christmas story and music is great - puts us in the Christmas spirit!

the CP is a wonderful show if you are of the Christian faith, even if it is cold, just be prepared for it with sweaters or a blanket and even if you have to stand. It is a wonderful way to get you in the Christmas spirit. We go every year for the holidays an would never think of missing it. You don't have to buy a package, we generally never do and have always gotten in and gotten a seat. The narrators are great but my only regret is that last year and looks like again this year we will miss Jim Caviezel - I would have really loved to hear his narration.
