No confirmation letter for reserving at Disneyland Hotel

We made reservations in March for an upcoming trip to Disneyland Hotel using our points. I made the reservations on the phone. I am packing for the trip and went to print out the confirmation when I realized I never got one. I do have a reservation number on my member website, but that's it. Shouldn't I have gotten a reservation confirmation? Also, it seems a bit strange not to have received a "we're looking forward to seeing you -- don't forget to make dining reservations" letter or card or email from Disney. We usually get these when we make Disney World reservations -- maybe they don't do that but it's kind of a bummer. I also recall asking on the phone about making certain requests about the room and was told that they don't do that. I hope reserving Disneyland Hotel with points is not like getting a room on Priceline where you are treated like a second class citizen. It's my 6 year old's birthday when we go, so I had wanted to let the hotel know. Any thoughts? Thank you!

I wouldn't worry, just print out the screen from the member website with the confirmation #.

I stayed at Paradise Pier on points and got a room on the top floor facing DCA. I've stayed there twice and once at GC on points (before the villas) and got great rooms. Never felt like a second class citizen. I don't recall if I got any "welcome" e-mails or letters. I would call the hotel directly the day before your trip and give them your requests.

We've stayed 5 times there on points and have never received written confirmation in the mail or an email. No letter about dining reservations either. I just usually take my screen printout with confirmation number from dvc website. I believe we weren't treated any different than any other guests.

Don't worry - you won't be treated like a second class citizen for staying on points at DLH. We did this last month and when I inquired when checking in the CM said they had a lot of people using "last minute" points there since there was no UY restriction or fee (which is what we were staying on - somebody's about-to-expire points that we rented). She even gave us a free view upgrade since the hotel was pretty empty due to construction (and I did ask her before she did it to make sure no extra points would be taken out). See that never happens at a DVC resort! The DLH is gorgeous - your niece will love it. :goodvibes

I wouldn't worry either. Last month, we were lucky enough to stay there for one night on points (made the reservations two days before our stay) and did not have time for the confirmation letter. Check in was seamless. Make sure that you bring your DVC card with you. That entitled us to free parking (vs $15 per day) when we left (you pay or show your room key that has DVC on it, as you leave the parking lot) We LOVED DLH and would definitely stay there again. Beware, there was a TON of construction at the hotel, and both parks. Not sure if the monorail is back up, but that was down also. We loved the rooms! Definitely worth it! Enjoy!

Here is my small trip report with pictures of the resort.
