No complaints on Disney vs. Six Flags coke bottle prices.

I won't complain about Disney's asking price on bottles when the Six Flags here(TX) wants $4.89 for a 20oz coke.

Six Flags has cheap tickets and cheap annual passes. They make up for it on food prices. Kinda like our local $1 movie theater charging $15 for a popcorn and a soda.

Yep...annual pass for all Six Flags parks is $64.

In addition, you can buy a season dining pass, which includes a sport bottle for unlimited soft drink refills all season....lunch, dinner, and a snack every day of the season, and a 20% merchandise discount...for the whopping price of $85.

Regular movie theaters charge 4.75 for a bottle of water. When I bought one I figured I would pay Disney prices, I about choked when I saw that price ring up. I'll just do without next time.

You can add most sporting events and other entertainment venues, at least near big citie, charge more for parking and snack foods then Disney does.

And this is exactly why I don't subscribe to the argument that Disney prices are out of line. Are they high, yes. But honestly, when I consider what we paid for Theme park food back in the 70's, it's no where near as high as you'd expect. I actually think when you consider everything, they are pretty low. And just how many others let you bring in food if you so choose?

Yep. Here in NY if you want to take a family of 4 to a Yankee game it will set you back about $500. This would be for 4 tickets(unless you score them cheap on the secondary market), parking at the stadium, lunch and a drink for 4 people.

Yeah, our sodas at the football games on Saturday are more than a soda at Disney. And we pay more for our season tickets, considering the donation required to even be eligible to purchase them, than we do for our AP at Disney. And we still have to pay for a season long parking pass on top of that.

They have Season Passes, not Annual Passes.

Six Flags isn't open every day of the year.

At the Kentucky Derby Infield a couple years ago, the concession stands were selling the 16 oz, grocery store brand bottles of water for over $4 - they weren't even Dasani or anything!! You can buy a whole 24 pack at Kroger for $3.

True but the cost of park admission is becoming difficult to afford. I used to have AP's for Disneyland and visited 1 or 2 times per month. Cost around 5-7 years ago was $350 and could get them for $300 at Costco. So for our family of 4 it was $1200. Today that same pass is over $1000 per person. Far more than inflation and far more than my salary increase!

Just the as far as entertainment dollars go, Disney actually costs us less than many other options.

Heck a bottle of soda at DD's school is $4, Canadian prices are high for everything sometime, a soda at the hockey game is $6. I feel like Disney fppd and drink prices don't shock me, even the Champagne in france

Yep...I pay $3300/yr just for the privilege of paying another $870 for two season tickets at UA (this year's prices). The $3300 does include food since I"m in the North Zone at Bryant-Denny.

Exactly what I was going to say. I do have the all season free refill bottle but that is a pain with coasters that you can't take it in line.

I was about to say the same thing about sports stadiums. Last game we went to we had a sandwich, fries, and two sodas, and our total was about $40. My exact comment was "this makes Disney look cheap."
