Hi All

I hope this is of help to someone, I have just recieved an e-mail from halifax share dealing.

Every time you trade international equities online between 08:00 on Thursday 2nd June until 21:00 on Wednesday 8th June, we'll waive the usual £11.95 commission. Foreign exchange rates will still apply.

It is valid on the Paris Exchange.

thats brill, thanks :goodvibes. Does anyone recall when the last free share dealing period was?

I bought my shares this morning and just filled out the application on the DLP website. I got a confirmation email from them saying they received it - there's one bit on there that confused me a bit :

"Please print out your form, sign it and then mail or fax to the Shareholders Club."

Do I print out the same form I just filled in or is it a different form? I can't seem to go back to the form I filled out to print and also, where do I sign it, just anywhere on the page? Can anybody help? Thanks! :goodvibes

Hi
Once you complete the form it then gives you a pdf to open in a separate window to print off - the form is the same as the one you have just completed. I've also just took advantage of the commission free offer and bought my shares today. I've not yet sent the email to the shareholder club though.

Thanks squiggly2902, the PDF didn't open for me after I applied :sad2: I emailed them late on Friday but literally just as I write this, they have replied with a copy of my form for me to sign :goodvibes what disney magic that was!

Thank you for posting this.

Purchased but now trying to decide if I want more to avoid the €30 or just stick at 5 shares.

I'm glad people are making use of the free commission for buying shares :cool1:

I was thinking the same but then I figured 5 shares + club fee is still cheaper than buying 20 shares and no club fee at the moment as the share price is quite high :goodvibes

And yes thanks miss_bell, I waited to buy mine after I saw your post so thank you!! :thumbsup2

Yeah, plus with a company that makes multi million euro losses every year, probably not the best investment option.

I had shares before but sold them as the broker SquareAgain started charging an admin fee, so I'm really greatful for this offer to get them back :goodvibes

I was going to ask how people paid this but with no club fee and also no commission at the Halixfax until 08/06 - I can buy 5 shares for about £ 36 and then save over €100 on the 5 Dream AP's

Is the additional 15% taken off after the 20% or is it 35%

199 x 5 = 995
-20% = 796
-15% = 676.60

or

199 x 5 = 995
-35% = 646.75

there is still the shareholders club fee on top of your 5 shares price :confused3 - you don't pay the fee if you have 20 shares or more.

you pay it by debit/credit card to the shareholders club when you apply to join the club.

ok so i just applied for a Halifax Share dealing online account
now what do i do???? i am completely confused?!?!? :confused3:confused3:confused3

Just had email back from Disney saying my membership has been accepted and they're sending me my details/shareholders card in the post, I'm a very happy bunny! :goodvibes

hi sarah28, as you have just joined i was wondering did you get the commission free?
Ive just opened a shareholder account and was going to buy shares today but when i logged in although it said i could trade there was no sign of the £100 i agreed to put in to open the account! I have just added a further £50 because i wanted to do it today without realising if needed a 10% buffer so was showing £45 in the account, I then went to buy shares and it gives a quote first saying how much you can buy .... and now i need to add more money because it is quoting that i need to pay the commission

I asked a man on the live chat about it and he said i needed to pay the commission and then it would be refunded at the end of the month! is that right?
:confused3:confused3

I opened my account last night with Halifax and added £100 by debit card.

Received email confirming username

Logged on today and ordered 5 shares - the calculator showed an estimate price and commission of £17.50

However when I actually ordered the commission was 0.00

Received an email confirming trade had been executed and contract note was available

Logged back on and printed contract note

Opened shareholder website, completed application form and validated - printed form, signed and completed credit card details and faxed it the specified number.

Received an acknowledgement email instructing to fax or post and how to make payment.

5pm received another email confirming membership of shareholders club, my card number and that I should receive it within a few weeks.

All done within 24 hours

Thanks to everyone that helped.
