I'm thinking of switching our Dec resort stay to POP from CBR. I'm looking at the POP facts and there is NO MENTION OF A COFFEE MAKER in the room.

This trip will just be me, dd7 and ds5. I wake up hours before them and I won't be able to just leave them in the room while I run to the food court for coffee. I one of those "have to have coffee" people. If I don't get a few cups in me by 6am, the headaches start.

Any ideas on what I can do? I've never stayed in a resort that didn't have a coffee maker in the room.

i just drink tea, yep even in the heat ..haha my dh used to go down the food court early to get his. he would sit by the pool , walk around, read the paper. oh yeah one summer, he was HELPING the workers with the POOL.. yep , hes an early riser.....................

Go forth and but thyself a cheap java maker.

Go to the place they sell cheap plastic stuff in your town, get a four cup coffee maker for about $12.

Buy some good ground coffee and put it in a ziplock bag.

Make coffee in your room.

If you really don't want to carry it in your suitcase, mail it ahead.

Even if you throw the coffee maker out, it's still cheaper and better than the coffee anwhere in the world if you are there for more than a couple of days.

I am with you on having to have my coffee right away in the morning. I am bringing my small 4 cup coffeemaker with us plus I ordered some Folgers packs for a 4 cup coffeemaker so we will be all set. Now for anyone that has stayed at POP, where would be the best place to set up the coffeemaker? Is the sink are long enough to set a coffeepot on? This will be our first time staying at a value so I am not sure what to expect on the space.

Before we were DVC members and were staying at moderate resorts, they did not have in-room fridges or coffeemakers. We paid for a small fridge to keep juice boxes in and I brought a cheap coffee maker and supplies with me. I get up ridiculously early and have to start my day with a quick shower and a cup of coffee. To muffle the gurgles of the coffeemaker so I wouldn't wake others in theroom, I would put a big pillow over top of it!! Probably a fire hazard but I never left it unattended while it was brewing :) Another option is to check out the Wolfgand Puck ind'l CANS of coffee you can buy in the grocery store that have self-activated heating! Have never tried them personally but intend to stock up if there is ever a threat of power outages in our area...been there, done that with no way to make my coffee and it is no fun!

Holy Cow! For some reason, I thought bringing your own coffee maker would be a no-no. LOL!!

OK, this problem solved. I will buy a small, cheapo coffeemaker for the room. Now I just need to call and change my ressies.
