I am so bummed........ :(

I've been researching my Jan. trip for MONTHS here and elsewhere, checking daily for codes on Mousesavers and finally today they come out! I called to see if I could have the code applied to my ressie and they said no because I'm checking in on the 1st and they don't start until the 2nd. Aaaahhhhhh!!! Has anyone else ever had this problem? and if so, were you able to resolve it?

Thanks for any input,
Dawn

I'm not totally cure, but I think you can try the following scenerio (it depends on room availability):

cancel your entire trip. then book the januray 1st day. then have a second ressie going from january 2 until whenever your leaving. this way, you can get the discount.

its a risk, cause there's a chance there might not be any rooms. but its just an option.

Dawn, I have heard of people in this situation making two different reservations. You may have to change rooms, tho.

Also, you could stay offsite the first nite and start your vacation onsite on Jan 2 and maybe stay a day longer if that works.

You can get sometime awfully good deals offsite in Jan.

Herc.

changing rooms after one night isn't too bad. we just didn't unpack anything

We have done this many times. You can request not to be moved. You will have to give two deposits, but I am sure you will be saving a ton of money!
Have a great vacation, Lisa

Thanks so much for the responses guys -- at least it looks like I might have some options. One other question about cancelling and re-booking the first day separately: How does this work since I already have everything paid for? Will they have to refund my money and then I have to re-pay or can they just move all that over to the new ressie?

Geez, the things we do for a deal!! :p

They should move the money for you, it depends what type of package you have booked.

Just make sure that you get the new reservation before you cancel the one you have!

We have never had to switch rooms. Tell CRO that you want them to mark your first reservation "continuing" with the second reservation number. Tell them again at the front desk when you check in. You will have to check out and then back in again, but it's worth the savings.

I was going to add, but Let'sbegoofy pretty much summed it up. Be sure to re-book before you cancel though!

Well, thanks again for all your help. I guess it's just not meant to be -- I called back armed with this new info and they said there is no availability at WL on the 2nd (glad I didn't cancel my current res. before I asked!!). Oh well...... I still get my DC discount and I'll still be at Disney!!

Check back every couple of days..you never know something may open up. ;)

I missed it, what code?

I'm a little slow today. You are talking about package codes, right?

Was there no availablity or no code availability? If the code was available, try booking a room for Jan 1. If that works, then just cancel that day off of your original ressie and ask to have the code applied to it.

idontknow - The DC code for 1/2/03 - 2/13/03 came out Monday. Check Mousesavers.com. Non-DC codes should be out day after Thanksgiving.

tmfranlk - There is no availability at the lodge on that day. But you know, I never thought about just cancelling that one day from our original res. Thanks for the idea!!!

I guess it all depends on the CM you get. I called yesterday to check it out. We're checking in 1/1 and out 1/5. CM said he'd just change it to two ressies, applying our already paid deposit to the 1/1 reservation and applying the code to the 1/2 - 1/4 reservations. He did it all in just a few minutes. (We're staying at AKL.)

JulieWent - I unfortunately found that out the hard way. The 3rd CM I called finally told me that that was exactly what she could do. However, by this time, all code days during my ressie were taken! Oh well, what can you do?

Dawn

You should try again today. Since they released a round of new codes yesterday, my bet is that they released some more rooms to go with them. Give it one more try!!! ;)
