No charge for refrigerator at the values?

I'm not sure if things have changed at the values but a co-worker just returned from WDW where his family stayed at the POP. He said that the first room was too far from the bus stop (their son is autistic) and they requested a room closer and also requested a fridge. He said when they got to their new room, they did get a fridge and they were not charged for it.

I know it's free if you need it for medical reasons but is this a new perk? Were they just lucky?

i'd go with lucky. it happens sometimes. i've heard of them forgetting to charge every night for valet parking too.

They were not charged for the fridge as it was for medical reasons. That has always been the policy.

According to an email alert that I received today (3/12/12) from Build a Better Mouse Trip (.com) ALL value resorts will have FREE fridges as of August 2012. I have not confirmed this information, but BaBMT is generally a reliable source. I'm thrilled :cool1:! We always travel during free dining and the portions are too large. Now we can store our leftovers to use for breakfast to make up for the snack that was removed from the QSDP.

Do you think they will be charging for fridge requests now? :confused3 I requested a fridge during my online check in. I am tired of dragging my cooler there. :rotfl:

there have been conflicting info as to whether these will be fridges (leftovers okay) or beverage coolers (not cold enough for leftovers). I think they just put in the permits to do some minor carpentry work and so they will know soon which is going in.

They have been confirmed (with photos) as actual refrigerators, and NOT beverage coolers. There is no freezer, though.

Well yea! I quit watching those threads because they were droning on and on. Guess I should have stuck it out a few more days.:rotfl:

Nice digging. I stayed at the POP for my first time at a Disney resort over the weekend. I believe my room was ADA compliant so I'm not sure if that's why but there was a working fridge, and I made no request for it. If I remembered this type of thread I would of looked for a date code or something. :lmao:

I spoke with a CM earlier this evening. He told me that as of last week all rooms have a fridge! We just saved $70! :woohoo:

Just got back from POP and we had a fridge in our room. No permits or carpentry work needed. They just put them in the open space in the dresser.
