No cancellation number ????

I just called and cancelled a reservation, but wasn't given a cancellation number. Any other hotel gives some kind of confirmation or cancellation number.
Is this how Disney does it? I have nothing to prove I cancelled the room.
Anyone know?

I have cabcelled a couple of room reservation and package reservation even with DVC and always gets a cancelation/confirmation number. If you are worried about it... I would just call back give them your original confirmation number and check if it was cancelled and asked for a cancelation number for peace of mind... IMO

In the past I've been told the original reservation number serves as your cancellation number. But IMO this does nothing to prove you actually cancelled.

I've never received a cancellation number from Disney when I've had to cancel a reservation. I've never had any issues, either. I guess I never really gave it much thought. If you're concerned, I would just call them back and be sure that the reservation is showing cancelled. I don't know what else to suggest but yes, most other places do provide you with a cancellation number.

Thanks for the replies! I figured I will just call back in a day or two, but was wondering if that really was true.

Where else but the disboard could I get an answer this fast !
