No Calls to WDW

This was posted on mousesavers, so I thought I would pass it along

Due to Hurricane Frances, please DO NOT call Walt Disney World regarding vacation packages, room reservations or Priority Seatings for dates after Tuesday, September 7. Disney asks that you leave the phone lines open for those who need to call regarding scheduled arrivals between now and Tuesday, September 7.

So for everyone needing to make PS's, I guess disney would like you to wait until Tues. Just wanted to pass this on.

Well, I followed these instructions -- didin'tt call for CRT today and plenty of people on the boards got PS for 90 days from today. I haven't gotten through all week, and I tried to do what was right for today....definitely feeling bummed.

Of course the hurricane is the biggest concern and I hope eveyone stays safe and well -- and I have no problem with Disney Dining closing or limiting calls -- So I didn't call. Now it sounds like I missed an opportunity.

Hope I get lucky later this week. Guess I *should* try tomorrow.

I too forgo doing any calling the pass couple of days and throughout the weekend. I really need and wanted to start making my PS this weekend for my trip next month, but I felt my plans will wait and did the right thing and stayed off the phone. I'll get my PSs arranged next week.

BTW: Snowhiterabbit, you did the right thing, just hope you get the PSs you want when you do call.

Not only is it 90 days, I was waiting for free weekend minutes on my cell phone, but I didn't call when I got the email from mousesavers.

I can be on the phone for hours, so it will be expensive to postpone. However, I would hate to be the frantic person trying to rearrange my plans and unable to get through.

I must apologize. I was totally unaware the WDW was asking us not to call. I wouldn't have done so. It probably would have been wiser for them to simply forgo PS's, etc. until a more appropriate time. THat way the people who know of the request aren't eaked out of things they want because of dummies like me. I do really apologize.

Please don't refer to yourself as a "dummie".. You simply weren't aware of the request - no need to beat yourself up over it..

For those of you who didn't call, you did the right thing not tying up the phone lines for people who really need to get through to figure out what to do about the vacation they had planned for now. I hope that you end up getting every PS you wanted, but even if you don't I bet you'll have an absolutely magical WDW trip anyway!!

For those of you who didn't get the word not to call, don't beat yourselves up because you called. If you didn't know, then you did nothing to feel bad about. And we need to keep our perspective here. This is restaurant dining we're talking about, not something that is going to dramatically impact someone's life. While we all love to plan, and eating at our favorite restaurants adds to the magic of our trips, missing out on a PS is not going to knock anyone out of a fantastic trip to WDW.
