Frustrated:sad2:
Want a check in on a Wednesday to Saturday for beginning of October at any DVC location. NOTHING is available for Friday night.

I'm going in mid November, but really have the bug to get there asap. I have 65 points available, hence a studio, but I can't get anything for Friday the 5th. I looked at every date for a three night stretch from the 2nd through the 16th and there's just nothing.

I never thought I'd say this, because crowd levels are getting out of hand, but there just doesn't seem to be enough DVC rooms anymore! I used to be able to book 2 months out and find something but not anymore. :confused3

Jeez, I can't even give Disney my money so easily anymore!:lmao: (I know I can book on cash, but not doing that for a last minute, most likely solo trip when I have 3 other trips booked throughout the winter )

just sayin'

The more resorts that open the less opportunity to book at 7 months or less at resorts.

I hope you get something but if not have a great time in November its not too far away :thumbsup2

I know how you feel. We tried to book our home resort ,OKW, 94 days out for 10/2 to 10/12.......and nothing.........be staying at SSR this October for the first time [since 1997] for that length of time staying at one resort. The thought has come up.........we might be having an OKW points sale come December.

I was trying to get a long weekend in as well in October as we had a trip in early December booked and needed to cancel it.

Nope, nothing at all...didn't expect it really, but it goes to show that fall is a really popular DVC time and those that want to stay at WDW, need to book so far in advance.

Hope something opens up for you!!!

That weekend is the Tower of Terror Ten Miler. The party goes until 4AM, so we'll be walking back to the BWV after the party.

I have 2 waitlists for 3 nights in a studio in October. Not weekend dates. None of the nights were available at any resort! Don't have much hope for the waitists to come through. I do have a Novemeber weekend!

I had a reservation for the second week of November at BWV, made in March. I found out around June that a work conference is scheduled that week that I can't miss. Even then, there was very little availability for another week from mid October to mid December, except SSR. I ended up with November 21 to 25, originally at SSR but a waitlist for AKV Kidani came through. Now I'm waitlisted for BWV or BCV.

I know how you feel, I am waitlisted and am pretty sure I have 0 chance of it coming through. I am usually a plannner, but just this once I wanted to try to use points for a stay in October. Guess a few nights at an all star won't kill me, but I wan't really big on finding out, either!:rotfl2:

We're looking to extend our trip in Oct as well and found nothing.
So it's not only you... :)

I booked the 1st weekend of October at about 6 1/2 months and the only studio available was at SSR!

But I was able to book a BCV 2br with the 2 queen beds this am for my spring break! Was surprised at what was available both on site and off. Already had my tickets to MCO though.

Wow I just booked last week for a studio first week in Oct and SSR and OKW were available. I am staying Sunday to Thursday. I also waitlisted some places but I am sure they will not come through but that's ok.

good luck

That's just not true.

As more resorts open, there are more rooms available. There has always been--and always will be--the same ratio of points to available accommodations.

What can and does change is owner demand for certain times of the year. As others pointed out, there is a marathon event held during this particular weekend. That always drives up demand.

Also, I suspect last year's discounted Premium Annual Pass offer drove up member demand for accommodations in 2013. If members are borrowing points in greater volumes to maximize use of those PAPs, rooms be filled quicker than in previous years. Of course, this pattern will also reverse itself the next year when members have fewer points available to use due to that borrowing activity.

100% agree.....

More resorts do not mean less availability at 7 months.

what this means is that the Food & Wine Festival is hugely popular with DVC owners!

To be fair, more offsite DVC resorts probably drives up demand at 7 months at the WDW resorts, especially for busy times. So it's possible that Aulani has affected WDW DVC demand at 7 months.

According to member reports posted here, Aulani actually suffers from lack of capacity at this time. Many reports of members not getting a desired reservation at Aulani.

A quick search of DVCMember.com shows Aulani with limited availability in October...just odd days here and there.

There may come a day when 480 villas at Aulani proves to be excessive relative to demand, but that day is many years off. And there will be a lot more DVC rooms added at WDW--perhaps even Disneyland--before all 480 Aulani villas are declared into the DVC program.

Exactly, I book a week-end in Oct. at 10-11 months, even if I don't know my schedule yet depending on school/work/sports etc. I actually enjoy staying at my home resort, so I don't need to change at 7 months. I've never had to cancel!

Oct is hard to book last minute, especially studios! I did, however, at 1:15 pm today book OKW, ded 2bd, for Sep 6-8th, next week-end! Kidani and SSR we're also available!

So last minute is doable but not during popular times/scheduled events!

Nope....DVC has only added one offsite resort, since HHI and VB.....and that is Aulani.

Almost all of Aulani points have been sold to West Coasters, locals and Japanese. The Resort is no where even close to 50% sold-out, probably around 15-20% of inventory.

October has been pretty much booked up before the 7 month window opened. I know this cause I rent a lot of points and I am constantly planning. So if the resorts are booked up before 7 months, its all home resort priority.
