no availability at the Yacht club in May

Our favorite hotel to stay at is the yacht club. Since My husband and I are leaving the country, our trip this May to celebrate 5 years since the day we met will be very special. For some reason I have not been able to find any availability at the yacht club for the first week in May. I went ahead and booked beach club which I am actually quite excited about since we will be spending much time at Epcot for the flower and garden show.

However, I am curious if anyone knows why there is no availability at the yacht club. Rehab? Something to do with the 50th anniversary?

Also, any opinions about Beach club versus Yacht club to cheer my husband up? (or spur me on to keep trying to change the ressie)

We couldn't get the first week of May at the WL either. A CM friend tried to book it for us with her discount and they had nothing!

We are staying at the Swan. I wonder if it's too late to become a cheerleader???

They are inviting media people in for the kickoff to the 50th anniversary celebration. They will probably close one of the parks early on 5/5 for a private party for them.

No, I was referring to the Swan and Dolphin cheerleaders.

I actually know someone who is a member of the media and has credentials for the private media event. I'm hoping all the extra media people during that time doesn't increase park crowds.
