I just called for a quote on our Feb and June trip for next year. AP rates are not out yet. She also told me that there may not be any discount offered at all next year because the hotels are filling up without discounts.

This is so upsetting to me. I am not going to pay $1200 for 3 nights at the DLH in off season!

Has anyone else heard this?

I do know that AP discounts are not available every day, but since there are AP discounts out right now (albeit not that great) and there were AP discounts even over the crazy busy summer, I am going to say they will continue to offer slight AP discounts in the next year as well.

Now, will those AP discounts offer substantial savings? Probably not what we are used to for the off season. I am expecting there to be nominal discounts even in the typical off season. Sorry, I hope I am wrong and there are some great AP rates next year. :goodvibes

Frankly this is supply and demand. There haven't really been any fantastic, great, or even decent (IMHO) AP rates offered on Disney hotels since Carsland for the simple reason that they don't need to offer them to get those rooms booked. I suspect they'll still offer the standard 10% off when rooms are available, but whether or not they do may not make much difference depending on what you would consider an acceptable price for the DLH to be. For me the standard 10% off doesn't make that $400/per night DLH price look much better. I'm not going to spend $1080 (plus parking and 17% room tax) for 3 nights at the DLH, but perhaps for you that is enough of a discount to make it tolerable.

I do have to say that I would be quite surprised if they got rid of an AP discount. Many people buy AP's primarily for the hotel discounts, with the food and merchandise discounts being secondary. With the RIDICULOUS increases in AP prices as of late, getting rid of the hotel discount benefit would be pretty unwise. Basic business says that you can't increase the price dramatically but decrease the product dramatically. They can certainly try, but they will anger an awful lot of people. It would be really, really bad business.

It might be cheaper to spend a week at a moderate at WDW instead :confused3

Yeah, as we all know YMMV when talking to CMs. I would guess that maybe the CM was trying to say that the deeper AP discounts of the past that we all looked for announcements about on the AP pages won't be offered next year. I'm guessing that standard 10% off will still be available. But I guess you never know.
