No Angel Food Ministries distribution for Sept.

I was checking their website for someone needing help and they are not going to be able to distribute food this month. I wanted to let folks know because I know there are some on here that use them.

That is so sad. I have not used the ministry, but know of others who will really be disappointed that it is not available.

I only used them once and will never get their food again. It was disgusting dollar store quality. I realize it's not that way in every region, but that's the way it is here.

Recently they've left several messages on my voicemail and have sent a few emails to drum up business. Now I know why. I feel bad for those who use it, but honestly, it wasn't a good deal for what I paid.

We ordered twice because the FIL is a pastor and his church was participating in the program. Both times the food was worse than dollar store quality. Even if I had donated it to a food pantry, I would have felt horrible for the people who would have had to eat it. I can't believe such a bad program is still operating.

I would be guessing the flooding makes deliveries too tough right now. Here the food wasn't terrible- but lately it's been too processed for our tastes. Too bad because it would be a great budget helper.

I am spent $23 on groceries this week (we are a family of 6) I'm trying to see if I can get it to last the week- or at least half the week.

Full refunds are now being processed to those who have already placed orders for the September distribution.

I'm also in NM and agree...the food was really disgusting (well, the packaged stufff was ok, but still low quality and could be purchased elsewhere for less). I guess it's a regional thing, but if they want to be successful and provide low cost quality food across the country they should have some better quality control in place.

I bought it for my Mother a couple of times and we agreed that pretty much an equal amount of food could be had from Aldi's for the same if not better pricing --- plus she could get at least some fresh fruit and vegetables.

I'm going to have to agree with everyone else here. It's been about 3 years since I first tried it and back then it was only $25 and it wasn't that good. The chicken fajita strips were disgusting and nobody here liked them. Other stuff just not that great and some stuff I wouldn't have normally bought. Could definitely do better shopping aldi's or grocery sales and know we will like the stuff.
