Trying to advance plan a AKV trip in a GV for next year, so I'm using touring plans to scope out a preferred room number. Am I correct that there are no GVs that overlook the Pembe savanna? So, regardless of room, I should see at least a giraffe or two? I've looked at all of the touring plans room views, and have an opinion on the optimum room to maximize animal viewing, but would love to hear your opinions as well.

There are, two I believe, and they are the standards view because they are at the more narrow part of the Savanah that the animals walk thru but don't hang out in much. I haven't kept up on what animals are where recently as it does get changed now and then for various reasons but it used to be that Pembe did not have giraffe.

KAT is correct. There are two GVs in Kidani Village that overlook the Pembe Savanna. They are classified as "Standard View". Pembe is a small savanna so they don't have giraffes there unless things have changed, and as KAT said, they do make changes from time to time. So if you are booking a GV in Kidani, do NOT book the Standard View if you want to see giraffes from your balcony.

If you book a GV in Jambo House, there are GVs on each of the three savannas there (Sunset, Arusha and Uzima). They are located at the very end of each of the hallways in Jambo House. As KAT said, they do occasionally change which animals are on each savanna. At one time there were giraffes on each of those savannas, but some savannas may have more giraffes than others.

I doubt it's changed due to the size of the Pembe Savanna. The Okapi which is a relative of the Giraffe is on the Pembe.
