No adr getting a table

I was told something the other day by the people at dining reservations and I thought I might run it by the experts. I've been trying to get an extra person added onto a adr for Afternoon Tea at GF in early May and nothing has been available. The reservation agents have told me that there is a great possibility that if we all show up that there will be a cancellation or no show and we will all be seated. Since this is a special occasion for us I hate to take that chance. Does anyone have any experience with this?

I doubt with the new cancellation policy in place that there are a great deal of no shows. Cancellations the day before though, that could happen. The CMs may seat the extra person, or they might not. It's really at their discretion and contingent on how busy it is that day, and if that extra person will violate fire code.

What is your current party size adr?
We have a table for 2 booked. I would guess that we can't add an additional person, that we need to find another table all together. I've never been in that particular restaurant but from the pictures it looks like tables are either a 2 or a 4. We need an adr for 3. I'm not sure how just showing up would help because if we have a 2 person table booked we would need a whole new table.

The CM was just giving you an option that may or may not work. I would keep trying to get either one more table for two, or add one more person onto your ADR. Keep in mind that people tend to overbook at the onset of their planning, and drop ADR's as they fine tune their plans.
